Hi there, for today's thread I want to show my iron bar door with lock and key. Recently I figure out how to build Custom Doors that will basically disappear when a certain Key block is in the right place. The way I wanted the door and key to work is where one key will open up one door exactly how locked doors worked in Legend of Zelda if your familiar with the concept.
See the idea here is to use the testforblock command and when the Block is found the next command will fill the general door area with air so that both the key and door blocks will all disappear with in the next commands. Another idea here is to use the lock state in the Dropper Block and have the message "Door Is Locked!" appear as a warning on the screen due to the dropper block having a custom name.
Command for the Dropper Block
/setblock x y z minecraft:dropper 0 replace {CustomName:Door,Lock:"Key"}
The next chain of commands are there to detect the tripwire_hook so that it will trigger the fill command which will fill the door area with air so that both the key and door blocks will all disappear together.
/testforblock x y z minecraft:tripwire_hook
/fill x1 y1 z1 x2 y2 z2 minecraft:air
I plan to make a more technical version of how to build this later on in the wiki.
A bit too late here I guess, but I'm very interested in Zelda-styled lock and door, and this looks pretty promising. Have you made that technical version already?
I'm making my own Zelda-styled temple, in Ocarina of Time/Majoras Mask theme, and would appreciate any kind of help or just chat about puzzles and custom stuff, since I'm not advanced in command/redstone. And I'd love to have a proper key/lock system. If you still are into this, mail me at [email protected]

Hi there, I like your LoZ Dungeon looks good, but Crazy_Dave is right, While this is an old Design, you can use this door design if you want to have a special Item or reach a certain point in the dungeon to open, but this was a precursor to another doorway I was making.
I got you covered because I was working on a special Adventure Mode Door Lock (Link: https://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/minecraft-java-edition/redstone-discussion-and/2855243-function-adventure-mode-door-lock) that was basically going to be an exact representation of the Dungeon door system used in Legend of Zelda Link to the past, but I never was able to finish it due to limitation in the 1.12 era. I wanted to create a fully automatic Dungeon Builder that Created Lock doors, puzzles and anything else I could think of... The core concept of the Idea was a basic One Fit all System Meaning that Only one simple Function was required to command the entire Process of opening up every door that needed a Key when Approached, Just like LoZ its takes away one key to open a doorway and once its open you never going need to open it again. Another Idea I had on paper but never got a chance to implemented in the game was a Doorway that would lock Shut after you walk through them, and one of the way to activate the door to open again was either by killing all the mob.
This is basically the bare bones to what you want, I'll try to figure something out in the mean time with the new commands, but to give you an Idea how the early door system it worked through a double relay check that was carried out by a triple Execute Command that started at the Door way entity name "Lock" that was going to be opened it would then it Check for a player in a 1 block radius and would swing back the Door way entity name "Lock" and replace the Blockade with the necessary Air blocks to create a path. It was a simple method I had developed.

Unfortunately 1. Anyone can cheat this with a normal trip wire hook, so you need to actually detect the name.
2. This isn't 1.13
