I want to apologize. I've been sick lately, and I have had and have coming a crazy busy week. I'm trying to find time to do this project for you, but it could be a while. Just wanted to let you know that I still intend to finish this.
I'm finally back and can pick up on this where I left off. When you said "Always Current", is that now 1.10? If so, I can use the Structure block and make this task quite a bit easier.
EDIT 1: Also, I've been trying to make this automatic, but I'm at the point where you will have to manually assign all of the players their own scoreboard score rather than it being done automatically. I hope this is possible, because it's the only way within reason that I can see.
EDIT 3: One more thing, I've decided to use the trigger method to change between gamemodes. It seems the easiest.
EDIT 2: And now, 40 minutes later, a screenshot of my little project's first part. now onto part 2.

Well, what I've been trying to do is make it so that when a player joins the server it automatically assigns him/her the next available score. However, it's going to have to be done in a way that Richard has to manually press a button and enter the player's name into a command block.
Ho ho! Luck would have this project go a different way! I was scrolling through the command block part of this forum (For one reason or another) and happened upon a video tutorial on how to use a mere three command blocks to automatically assign a unique id to each player automatically upon them joining the server! This is grand! Now I just have to figure out a way to reduce the size of the other half. The lag coming from it is unreal at the moment.
I haven't figured out how to properly hyperlink though...
Anyways. The wonderful person who helped me out actually guessed correctly on everything I was trying to do. If you just copy his commands into command blocks in the way he says, it should work. If you still need help, let me know.
No worries
