I first started making a custom map but later realized that i could make it better if i started over.
So i started over and realized i could make even better if i start over again.
I basically repeated that process and learned a lot on the way, becoming better with command blocks each time.
Ofc, that's really tedious and no one wants to do that.
I'd recommend you look at some of sethblings or dragnoz videos.
It take a very long time to learn command blocks. I think of myself as rather good at them and I'm STILL learning things everyday. The best way to learn I find is to experiment with cool ideas you come up with. When you get stuck on something, watch some videos. or study command structure on the minecraft wiki. Dragonoz is by far the most helpful when it comes to command blocks. That's what I've found anyway. If I get stuck on something he's always the first person I go to.
So, I've never been good with command blocks, I would like to learn more. how did you learn command blocks?
I'm almost completely inactive, in case you're trawling through really old threads and notice me somewhere.

I would also recommend dragnoz he is very good, but SethBling has lots of plugin videos on his channel as well.

Command blocks are fun
"Not all who wander are lost"
I saw in one command videos on how they did those amazing stuff so I started to wonder how. And then I watched videos in YouTube to then I learned
how to do command block stuff. Try doing a lot of researches then you'll be fine with command blocks!
I learned from
Dragnoz
Sethbling (He doesn't teach command block creations very often now)
and
Logdotzip
Meet my 2 masters:
Master Youtube and
Master MC-Wiki.
They are good masters
and they taught me well.
