The Meaning of Life, the Universe, and Everything.
A Place Where: e^(i*pi)≠-1
Basing this off the "Luggage" creature in the Discworld series, It's basically a Chest that is indestructable and follows the owner everywhere they go...eventually (but not eventually in the one I've created here,(even if you die, you don't lose what items you put into this Chest)
Unfortunately, this only works if there is only one "MinecartChest" entity in your world (Or else you might have hundreds of Minecarts teleporting to you), it works with multiplayer however only one player can possess it
have a comparator running out of the block and a repeater after the comparator,
next to the repeater have another repeater facing in a different direction running into a command block:
/tp @e[type=MinecartChest] (Owner's Username)
When the "MinecartChest" is within a 5 block radius of the player, it will activate the repeater running out of the comparator which will lock the second repeater stopping the constant signal that activates the command block that makes the chest teleport to the player.
I originaly intended to make it protect you (Like in the actual book), but the only thing I managed to make that vaguely protects the player is spawning invisible snow golems ontop, but their aim is lousy and not very reliable. If you use this in multiplayer, you might as well just have a comparator clock running into the second command because you can't do "/execute @e[type=MinecartChest] ~ ~ ~ testfor (Player Name)[r=5]", Because if its in a radius of another player say 100 blocks away... assuming the player doesn't move, the Chest will stay where it is. And if you do use it in singleplayer you don't necessarily have to have the"/execute @e[type=MinecartChest] ~ ~ ~ testfor @a[r=5]" command, but I find it a bit annoying to have a entity constantly teleport to your exact coordinates (Especially in Creative). Both ways, you will probably want to set gamerule "commandBlockOutput" =false, if not your chat will be spammed with "[Luggage: Found (Player Name)]" and "[@: Luggage was teleported to (Player Name)]".
Does anyone know anyway to make it protect the player, while still making it able to open the chest?
I've tried wolves and iron golems but they don't seem to actually protect the owner while on the minecart.
