Thanks for checking out my website, sorry I haven't gotten your nature sword done I don't have a lot of time because I'm going on vacation, I can work a little on it though .
What about if the crafting is the same, but instead, the swords are turned into blocks, respectively? (stone, wood, diamond, iron) When the block is placed that happens.
You can use this ^ to detect if the player is holding any of the elemental swords. If they are holding one, teleport an armor stand to the player. When they right click, the player will give the sword to the armor stand, which then will execute the commands and give the player back the sword.
Of course, you can't detect what block they right clicked, but you can still test for when they right click.

I used the word realistically for a reason. This method is unrealistic. It may work but you really don't want to use this method for every single player on a multiplayer server.

Why not? Maybe instead of teleporting an armorstand, just execute to everyone holding the sword to summon a special armorstand. It would work just as fine for singleplayer as multiplayer.
Can't you make a scoreboard objective for stat.useItem.minecraft.sword and then detect the players who have clicked
That stat only counts up when a sword uses durability. So it would work if it attacked something, but not if it right clicked.
For the air sword, you could use snowballs with an enchantment to deal damage when used to hit something, but when it is thrown summon a fireball at the snowball and /tp the player to the fireball. I just tested this and it worked pretty well with these commands:

I would absolutely love some help with my teleporter problems. Ideally I'm looking for a self contained command block structure that I can randomly spawn in the world. The base functionality I want is for the random teleporter pads to have a two way connection to a custom placed platform at the server spawn point. In my far fetched dreams I've imagined a waypoint system similar to diablo, torchlight, path, etc where the player can find these random pads and link them into a network of destination pads eliminating the need for the central hub.
hi im currently bulding a map where you protect a villager in the middle of a fairly large map from zombies, but I cant figure out how to make zombies go to the center staring from the outside can you help?
Anything is possible, using blocks as you suggested above would be much easier, not requiring a whole right-click-detection system to function. A scoreboard tracking the block's uses would be all that is required

I think it'd be great if the clone command had a replace [data] [block] [data] equivalent like fill, so you could clone around things. Like if you wanted to clone a structure that didn't eat through your base. I recently had to set up a command block cluster that manually filled each component of a structure purely because I only wanted it replacing air.
On that note, I'd also like if if fill had extra parameters for its outline modifier. If you make it two-dimensional, then the middle is still solid. Pretty much what I'm saying is you can't make a square with the filloutline command, which is kind of counterintuitive.
First off, a friend of mine has set themselves up a little village with a metric buttload of chickens wandering around, because they love birds. But the eggs all lying around are sort of troublesome and occasionally laggy. We had the idea of spawning a chicken that would act like a roomba kind of thing and run around cleaning up the eggs, but we can't seem to get it to pick up the eggs, even if pickupLoot is on. I thought of making an invisible hopper minecart ride it, but we also can't make it seek out the eggs in the first place. Any advice from the experts?
Second, we have mob griefing off on our server because a lot of players are either new, or too casual to be willing to deal with creeper ********. Unfortunately we also want to put up an autofarm for crops; is it possible to use command blocks to enable certain game rules like mob griefing only on specific spawned mobs?

Are you good with commands? Im terrible with them.
it is impossible to change regular crafting recipes, you must use custom crafting table or floor crafting in order to do that
I never suggested any kind of crafting recipes.. In order to do what? I was merely explaining how the created items could work. Not how you would obtain them.
The only time I ever seen you talking about custom crafting on this thread is the last comment on the first page. Maybe he didn't read the time signature and didn't notice there were more pages?

After I finish somebody else's "mod" I can try at yours.

Pretty much all of these are not really realistically possible, mainly because you can't really detect the clicking of a sword...

Actually, it is possible to detect the right click.

Hmm, that might work, but I think I have a better idea:
Fire sword: It's actually a flint and steel with attribute modifiers and enchantments.
Earth sword: Actually an armor stand using this method here: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/minecraft-discussion/redstone-discussion-and/command-blocks/2424127-entitytag-available-for-armor-stand-items to give the armor stand some tags so you can execute around the armor stand creating the dirt blocks when it is placed. Also give the armor stand some enchantments so that it deals damage like a sword.
Water sword would be similar to the earth sword.
For the air sword, you could use snowballs with an enchantment to deal damage when used to hit something, but when it is thrown summon a fireball at the snowball and /tp the player to the fireball. I just tested this and it worked pretty well with these commands:
/execute @e[type=Snowball] ~ ~ ~ summon Fireball ~ ~ ~ {direction:[],ExplosionPower:0}
/scoreboard players add @e[type=Fireball] lifeTime 1
/execute @e[type=Fireball,score_lifeTime_min=5,score_lifeTime=40] ~ ~ ~ tp @p @e[type=Fireball,c=1]

You can increase their follow range, so they will see the villager from further away, but the walls will still block their line of site...
Instead you can guide them along the path using "/tp"s.
So is it possible?

Hey so I have a couple of questions.
