Today, I thought that I would make a small thread for people to post what they think is a good idea to make in Vanilla Minecraft with command blocks. Basically, anyone can request any type of contraption, it doesn't not have to be in one command (it may be a schematic). I will try to do most of them, note that some may be impossible (or I may not know how to do it), but I'll try my best.
Are you a redstoner/command blocker?
Also, if anyone of you guys is also searching for something to do, and need requests, you can still use the ones on this post. it could sort of become a place where everyone can share requests and post their contraptions. (Note: You may not post or talk about your contraption if it has not been requested). Also, if someone makes a contraption before you, you are still allowed to post it in here, it does not matter, you still made it. You are also allowed to make a video on your creation if you want, it's your creation, you can do anything with it! One last thing, you are not allowed to post a contraption if it's not yours! (Unless given permission and you will have to prove that).
How to submit a request?
Just reply to this thread and answer this form:
What is the basic purpose of the contraption?
Pictures or example (maybe to explain something?) (Optional)
Anything else?
Please explain clearly your request or I/others will not be able to do it...

I've had an idea for a while. It used to be a real mod, but that was taken down in like 1.2. Basically, trees would randomly drop saplings around them that would Plant themselves. Same with flowers, cacti, etc. Also, trees would naturally grow bigger over time. So over time, a single tree could spread out and become a huge, tall, forest. I'm pretty sure it would be doable as a vanilla mod.
Ok, do you want this to apply to all saplings or just renamed ones? Because if it's all, every time you will drop one, it will grow into a tree... (And I think you can't get it back because when breaking it, it will place another one)
Right now, the structure is done, I just need to know that and wether or not you want it for every trees.

- When dropping a sapling, you have 5 seconds before it plants itself.
- Once the sapling is grown into a tree, it will start a timer (100 seconds) to spread new saplings.
- Every time a new sapling is planted, the timer is reset to 0. Meaning that it will plant a new sapling every 100 seconds.
- If you break the first two logs of a tree that has been planted that way, it will not grow new ones anymore.
- Trees have a 50 blocks radius to plant new saplings. Note that the sapling may plant somewhere where it can't grow (like stone), don't worry about it.
- A reset button (also works as a start button), which will reset all trees that have the ability. (Basically kills all the armor stands that are used to grow new ones).
Other information
Around 8 hours of work, 18590 characters.
Note that it only works with Oak saplings as it would lag a lot with all trees and I need to make a lot of scoreboards for each.
Also please note that the structure may lag a bit (maybe a lot depending on your settings and specs). So if it lags too much, remove the structure (break it).

Now it's a only one command contraption, so here's the Pastebin were you can find the command.
When installing, it is highly recommended to use the command /gamerule commandBlockOutput false because you might get spammed in your chat.
I will later make a video to present it!
Please share it with your friends and others, and tell them that they can request command block contraptions/mods here!

I've been working on a Magic system, and have scrapped several versions because I can't figure a decent way to mark where non-persistent projectiles land (snowballs mainly). I've tried summoning arrays of armor stands, which works fairly well, but I can't get a decent way to target the one which was spawned last. I'd also prefer that this be multiplayer friendly (it's for a PvP system). I've also tried with wither skulls, arrows, and have run out of ideas. Any help is appreciated.
I'm pretty sure that's possible with damageTaken and damageDealt tags. Add a scoreboard, holdStick, with the NBT data needing to be {SelectedItem:{id:minecraft:stick}}, and then just execute at someone with damageTaken of a minimum of 1, and then execute at another player with a score holdStick of 1 and damageDealt at least 1 within 4 blocks then do something to the player with damageTaken with a minimum of 1 within 4 blocks. The damageDealt, damageTaken, and holdStick tags need to be reset every tick after the commands are executed.
I want to see some cool little mini games for a decent size server. I am a admin for a vanilla server I play on but we have some command block here and there but nothing major yet. I am going to working on a tiny mini game spot soon and want to see what games are out there for command blocks that won't lag and 58 player server. Basically any type of mini game.
Well there are a lot of mini games out there that you can download! The thing is, I am just making small concepts, I won't make a whole map and a mini game for it (if you understand what I mean). Other people can do it if they want (as this is a post for probably anything that's vanilla) but I will not do it.

I'd like to know how to turn a specified item into another. Specifically, I'd like to make a command block which turns 1 wool into 4 string, acting as a spinning wheel, reversing the '4 string = 1 wool' crafting recipe. This is for use on a Realms server, so the Deconstruction Table mod isn't an option. Perhaps a player could hit a button to have the commands take 1 wool then give 4 string, or maybe they could drop the wool into an attached chest and have it converted into string. Would I need a separate command block for every colour of wool, or could there be a single device which works for any colour?
Thanks!

That is pretty simple. Let's say it will only work when you drop the wool on top of a crafting table:
First make a scoreboard obective:
/scoreboard objectives add tileType dummy
Then place these commands on a clock, a /fill clock is not required:
/scoreboard players set @e[type=Item] tileType 0
/scoreboard players set @e[type=Item] tileType 1 {Item:{id:"minecraft:wool",Count:1b}}
A internet search engine in Minecraft using command blocks using the database DJboi28 invented in his videos. You would install Google's downloaded searches then use the MCEdit filter* to make a database, then probably if you type something into chat or click on tellraw it would search Google.
Well, first of all, it's impossible to search through google with Minecraft (I'm talking about the real google, not DJboi28's concept). So putting Google's results in the machine is impossible because:
1. Google updates a lot of things and changes which link appears first all the time
2. Some new websites are created and I have no way to use the algorithm in minecraft to add them.
3. It would take years, maybe centuries (maybe even more) to add all possible results into that contraption.
Though, there is a pretty good Sponge Plugin that you can find here which allows you to search on Google, Bing... (But it's Sponge, not Vanilla)

So I just copy & paste all of that into the command block? Thank you, but I don't know what you're doing with the commands, since I'd have written it myself if I did. Why do I need a scoreboard for the block to take away a wool and give the strings? I'd rather the user of the block just click a button or put the wool block(s) in an attached chest.
I've see requests for a spinning wheel that go back years; I don't get why Mojang seems to ignore suggestions for such a simple and logical feature. It makes more sense to spin wool into yarn than it does to transmute spiderwebs into wool.
Hello everyone!

Ok, I'll see what I can do!
(Note: It may take a bit of time)
EDIT:
I will make it for Oak Trees only as it would require a lot of command blocks to do it for all trees and other plantable stuff.
(Maybe if I have time, I will make it for every trees but not for flowers and cacti...)

Well, you can use an arrow and use the tag InGround.
Basically, you would give a scoreboard to the arrow by testing if it's in the ground. Then you would execute the arrow with this scoreboard.
For example you have the scoreboard dummy Arrow
/scoreboard players set @e[type=Arrow] Arrow 1 {InGround:1}
/execute @e[score_Arrow_min=1,score_Arrow=1] ~ ~ ~ /whatever you want to do

Is SelectedItem a thing? If it is... This saves me a ton of work.
Maybe Testfor a player who has been dealt damage, and is within r=5 of the tagger. If so, they're the new tagger.
At first that's what I had in mind, but the problem with that way is what if the player gets tagged but another player is closer?

We first set all items tileType to 0, because after the change, it will not realize it is no longer matching the check in the next command.
Then we run a command as the wool item only if it is on top of a crafting table, this command will turn the wool into 4 string.
Note this will only work when one item is dropped at a time. It will also work for every color.
