Alchemy / Magic Circles in Vanilla Minecraft 1.8!!
Hey guys!
I've had this project sitting in my minecraft saves folder for a while, so I decided that I'd get it out of there and onto
the internet for you guys to see!
It's a little more basic than the stuff I normally do, but a fair amount of effort has gone into it.
Overview
Place redstone dust on the ground to form alchemy "circles" (squares). When you stand in the
correct position, alchemy will happen
Look at the symbols on the iron blocks to find out which patterns you need to do what.
Unfortunately the symbols have to be facing a certain way, if you use it in survival it shouldn't be too hard to just keep rotating them though.
Explanation
It's very simple. The command blocks attached to a redstone clock execute at the player to test for the magical circle underneath them using this command.
/execute @p ~ ~ ~ /testforblocks x1 y z1 x2 y z2 ~x ~ ~z
Then most of the alchemy symbols use /setblock commands to place blocks in a platform, wall etc. The lightning storm one is a little more complicated. A clock spawns invisible silverfish named "Lightning" 1 block above your head, which are then spreadplayer'd around an area.
So I hope you enjoy! Unfortunately this doesn't work in multiplayer (unless you wanna make a copy of all the command blocks for each player), but you can place it in the spawn chunks of any survival world and there you have it, alchemy in minecraft! Leave any suggestions for me down below, I'm out of projects so I'd enjoy some ideas!
