WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY WHYYYYYYYY did they change that?! Now i have to rewrite ALL of my commandblocks in my world! Or is there a special MCedit filter for that?
Lets hope they will revert the changes before they release 1.9

Hey skylinerw? Can you help me? I haven't played minecraft in a few months, and am a bit upset that they changed it to strict. I had a hard time learning and nearly self teaching myself this stuff and now I am finding it really hard to relearn. Almost none of my things work anymore. Not even my testfors, I was wondering if there was a FULL list of all the changes they did. I can't even write how to testfor a wolf spawn egg anymore. ...it's upsetting really..And what is up with the command blocks, needs redstone always unconditional impulse,, whaa..? I read the wiki but it never actually explains or gives examples and youtube isn't helping T.T Thanks in advance!!

For the JSON text component, it now requires strict JSON. The only difference here is the requirement of key names and string values being surrounded by quotation marks. For example, this generator writes in strict JSON, so you can use that for comparison.
For NBT changes, I have a thread here. For command block changes, I have a thread with basic info here, although I haven't really messed with the new command blocks enough. Command blocks were also recently changed up in the 15w34d+ snapshot, so the info there is definitely subject to change.
I am currently setting up a vanilla server and having trouble with the following tellraw text in a command block. It should tell any player who kills a Witch that they get 5 Florins. But for whatever reason it just wont display the text when u kill the witch. You get the money but no text to say how much you got.

The command is correct. Make sure your command blocks are activating in the correct order, in case the command that resets "withKills" is being activated before the /tellraw command. Otherwise you will need to provide the error (and if the error is "UUID is invalid format", that means that no target from that selector was found).

Thanks Skylinerw,
Whilst waiting for a reply I did some fault finding and changed it a bit. I now see the text but am waiting for someone to drop into the server to test if it only shows for me or all players. I want it to only show for the player that killed the Creeper. This is what I changed it to.
tellraw @a {"text":"Woohoo you killed one of those green blowy uppy things", "extra": [{"text":" and earnt 3 Dollars for your troubles", "clickEvent":{"action":"run_command", "value":"/scoreboard players set @p creeperKills 1"}}]}

Since your /tellraw command's selector does not have any parameters, all players will receive the message. You'll have to target a player with a particular score, like your original command.

Thanks again Skylinerw. The command block was indeed firing too early so I threw in a repeater to delay the signal to the tellraw command block, it appears to work fine now and I added my previous parameters so only the one player gets the text.
You wouldn't happen to know about the summon command would u. I just want to know if its possible to summon my own head into a particular position for display purposes. I am aware of the give command but I don't need that, I actually want to place it inside a glass block like a display cabinet. I have the display cabinet sorted just cant get the head and I am thinking that's because minecraft may not permit me to summon my head.

Anyone know why non-player entity selectors will not print their scoreboard values to chat (e.g. I try and print an ArmorStand's value in a given objective, but it will not print)? This is infuriating and seems to have no logic behind it. Is it actually an intended feature or a bug of some sort?
This is probably quite simple and I am just missing something here but I am trying to get a written_book given to a player that contains both multiple pages AND formatted text with line breaks.
I can use this code to get this to work effectively in 1.8.
However, I am porting our map to MinecraftEDU which is on 1.7.10 and whilst I can get separate pages using TagString, i cannot get it to recognise the line breaks.
Am I correct in thinking that this is a bug in 1.7.10 and that you cannot get the line breaks to be recognised with books issued via command blocks?
Your second command has two backslashes in a row, meaning the first backslash is escaping the second one (preventing the second backslash from performing its function, which is to insert a newline via \n). Removing the first backslash should fix it:
I wish it were that easy.
I used your code and it just puts the \n in to the text with no line break.
I've taken a look around and, as far as I can tell, it's not possible to use commands to create a newline in 1.7.10. You'll either need to use a third-party NBT editor such as NBTExplorer or insert enough spaces to push the text onto the next line.
I know what the issue is: The Command paramater does not like the extra speech marks, however removing them breaks the /tellraw completely, so I am unsure of what to do.
You'll apply a backslash before the impeding quotation marks. Doing so tells the parser to not use the quotes to close the string and instead use them as a part of the value:
Which of course, doesn't work. I want to ask how do you, I guess double-nest speech marks, so that command block is spawned with the right amount of backslashes
It's because you have deeper quotation marks that need to be nested. The first \" after Text1 opens the string, meaning the very next \" will close it (occurring just after the first curly bracket). The formula for the number of backslashes to apply based on depth is: ([current backslashes] * 2) + 1
As such, you need to apply 3 backslashes to further-nested quotes rather than just 1. Example:
{Command:"/setblock ~ ~1 ~ minecraft:wall_sign 4 replace {Text1:\"{\\\"text\\\":\\\"Text on sign\\\"}\"}"}
Lets hope they will revert the changes before they release 1.9

BOO YAH!
thx all yu hoo helpet mi.
Can you make a post of how to use it in 15w37a (Most recent 1.9 snapshot)?
There are two types of people in the world. Those who are gamers, and those who wish they were.
All that's changed was the move from lenient to strict. All key names and string values need quotes around them.
Instead of doing the following:
You would do:
Booleans (true/false) and numerical values (only used for "value" within "score") should not have quotes:
What we cannot do anymore is only use quotes for simple text:
