2x6x2 Flat (14 eggs/snowballs in furnace = power level 5, 7 items in leftmost hopper = 2.8 second delay):
The daylight sensor keeps the rightmost comparator (in subtraction mode) from outputting a signal from the the furnace until the sensor's output drops below the furnace's. The central torch and block keep items in the leftmost hopper until the rightmost comparator turns on, then the items quickly move to the rightmost hopper eventually turning the leftmost comparator off, turning on the leftmost torch and redstone lamp.
Can you not achieve this by inverting the signal on a 'daylight sensor'?
The "fun" goal of this project is to get the timing as precise as possible. You can't sleep when the lamp is off, but the instant it turns on, you can. Or as close as possible…

i cannot tell from the picture how this should work ...
The "east"-facing repeater is on a block, with a torch on its "west" side under the middle block. When the daylight sensor has strong signal strength, its dust will keep the torch off. When the daylight sensor dust goes down enough, the clock will start running making the lamp flash. It's hard to see because the torch has just turned off, but the repeaters are still putting out power.
A little invention I came up with

Nice and simple too.
I just did...works around 13000
Put 5 redstone dust and it should work at 12500.

Boom.
I see...lol xD
This makes more sense.

Again, the goal is not to get a lamp to turn on at night, but to get the lamp to turn on at the precise instant that it's possible to sleep in a bed.
"You can only sleep at night"

"You can only sleep at night"
(lamp turns on)
(sleep)
