Is there any way to visually see a radius where a command block is active? (Easier to see if you got the right x/y/z co-ordinates. (can MCEdit visually see them?)
I'm assuming the radius is a sphere, any way to switch it to be a cube?

I can't answer for MCEdit, but the only way you're going to see the radius is to you place the blocks yourself. You could use a '/say @p[x,y,z,r]' on a clock so you know when you're in the radius when marking it out. And no, the command block is only limited to a sphere. There are some tricks to simulate a rectangular shape, such as the way Versepelles displayed, but there is no direct way.
