Just did a little playing around with 1.5 logic and created an extremely small RS-NOR latch. It's 3 high, 3 long, and only 1 wide, plus the whole system is tile-able. It's an extremely easy build, and is perfect for all your RS-NOR array needs.

The only thing I haven't mentioned is what's inside the hoppers- one block of any type inside one, and nothing in the other. Pressing the buttons switches it back and forth.
This seems tileable at first glance but then you realize that there is no way to individually power that top input because the comparator is on the way. You can go out of your way with droppers and 1 signal strength items etc, but that makes it even larger.
So why do that if you can just do this
You can still power the top one.. Just run the signal in over the comparator and bring it down to the torch.
