I think that I know how to make one. It's so simple! Just have wiring going from the piston to the button next to it! I'll make one later and post some pics.

People are funny. Even a five-year-old knows how to spend money, but there’s plenty of adults who don’t know how to earn it. They feel better handing over money than bowing their head and taking it. They go on and on about how the customer’s always right, always the winner but isn’t that supposed to be how the seller feels, not them? But if everyone’s spending, who’s left to provide the service? I think a society where people prefer earning to spending is a healthier one.

a "Jeb" door that is 5x5 might be possible, but not atm due to a bug, same reason a 3x3 totaly seamless door isnt possible at ground level because pistons get locked open
I think by 5x5 door he means a door flush with a front surface, like a jeb_door. Yours requires the ceiling to be the same high on both sides to be hidden, or at least a one block protrusion on the outside to hide the pistons. I'd actually like to see someone build a 5x5 'jeb_door' and i think it's possible, the hard part of course is to retract all the pistons and blocks into the wall once they have been retracted 1 back. You can use multiple stacked pistons but it's get's profusely complicated quite fast...
I havent tried a full flat front but I can make a 4x15 door with no visible redstone or pistons from either side, open or closed. The one I made here (linky) can be changed so the bottom pistons arent shown. The top however, would need another layer added to the ceiling just to hide the redstone torches and the pistons. The sides are completely empty as everything is pulled up or down.
Im quite curious to know if putting and retracting a block to the center of a 5x5 wall is possible without visible parts

its possible yes, but it has to extend either up out of the floor or down from the roof on a multipiston extenstion, and you would have to have a hole in the roof
a 5x5 flush door is absolutely possible to be made flush with the wall, it uses the same methods as a 2x2 door and a an elevator. i however am far too lazy to even attempt it. the bug that causes the pistons to get stuck can be by passed

When life gives you melons, you're probably dyslexic.

what about my 5x15 door is exposed? a redstone torch that is tucked into the ceiling is all that is visible.
From what i see in the video all the torches in the ceiling are exposed along with the pistons and the pistons in the ground are exposed. In order to hide them the door would really be 4x15 or 3x15. If im wrong please explain why. When I say seamless i mean like my 3x3.
The door im making isnt a Jeb door but that might be a fun challenge after i finish the one im working on.
I have two designs that work one that auto resets but requires the center block to be sand and another that has to be manually reset but is solid stone from the outside. Both are completely seamless when open.
And trust me a lot of ideas seem viable when you dive into the project but you soon realize none of them work.

Ive seen your 'seamless 3x3' and as soon as you walk in, you have to go left to not see the redstone that powers the middle block from behind. Ill edit my map and make a seamless 4x15.

Its still the only door of its kind and my second redstone creation ever :tongue.gif: . My seamless 5x5 lets out into an actual hallway. Maybe ill go back and remake my 3x3 better eventually.
It's kind of funny seeing something where people are wondering if something is possible, and now it has been done (dicotheredstoner made a flush 5x5). Although, a flush AND seamless 5x5 still need to be made. It'll happen eventually though.
I'd edit the poll and ad an option to vote for its' redstone area's size.
something like this:
- 20x20x20
- 30x30x30
- 40x40x40
- etc.
As far as my knowledge goes the surface area of a 5x5 door goes well over
100x100 blocks. I haven't seen the one with all the excess redstone removed yet.
Any doors bigger than 5x5 require sand to work and only have pistons in the
floor. The maximum size of those doors is 11 high because of the limit of the blocks
being pushed and the starting point being the floor you walk on. That is if the
only material is sand.
You can't really call those piston doors like what you are talking about.
Rather than making full use of the mechanics of the pistons it relies on
the mechanics of the sand that make it fall.
No sand, 8 by 11 door.

I have discovered a truly remarkable proof of this, which this margin is too small to contain.

i like it but all the pistons and wiring are exposed, the one i have almost built is cooler :wink.gif:

Although it isnt level & requires 3 levels of stairs to hide wiring.
