I'm trying to make an adventure map that needs Wither Skeletons to spawn. So, I decided since that mobs can go through Nether Portals, I decided to set up some water/lava gadgets to get them through the portal and into where they were supposed to go.
So i set up 2 dispensers full of Skeleton Spawn Eggs in the nether, and made a half-assed redstone clock/repeating signal thingy to spawn the skeletons. I used a box the size of a Nether Portal and lava to get the Wither Skeletons down to and through the portal, and normal skeletons would burn up.
Problem is, when I'm in the Nether the thing works, but when I'm in the normal world I cant even tell if it works or not.
So my question is, does that sort of thing work while I'm not in the Nether, or not? And if it doesnt, is there some way to get Wither Skeletons into the overworld WHILE I'm in the overworld?
I'm not sure if this will work, but you might be able to use trip wire in order of sorting spawned skeletons VS wither skeletons. You might be able to make a contraption that uses trip wire, since a wither skeleton is taller then a skeleton, it could trigger a piston and drop the wither skeleton in a sorted wither skeleton chamber, and the other skeletons who aren't wither skeletons because they aren't big enough will not trigger the trip wire. This can probably also be done with a block at the wither skeletons head, sorting them in a fashion where the wither skeleton can't move but normal skeletons can. Then after choosing one of the appropriate steps you can hook up a clock full of skeleton spawn eggs. You also may want to sort the normal skeletons into lava... This works, I made a machine on it
