I'm working on a special setup with redstone to build a door/lock to my house in one of my maps...but I'm stuck at a section of wiring..
The setup is as follows:
2 Sticky pistons to move 2 sets of stairs (side by side)
4 sets of 2 sticky pistons to move 4 sets of stone (2 side by side in a big 2x4 square)
My problem is, I don't know how to set up redstone to time the doors to move in the following order:
Open: 4 sets of blocks move simultaneously to their respective side to make way for the stairs to slide out.
Stairs slide out to complete staircase and open tunnel to house.
Close: Stairs slide back into their compartment then stone closes.
I'm told I need a timer of some sort, but I have no idea how to go about setting up extended wiring to set the time....
The issue so far is that when I go to open it, the pistons pushing the stairs moves before the pistons pushing blocks, so the stairs push the blocks on the bottom sticky piston, messing the entire mechanism up.
The goal is to have 1 button control this mechanism, and the one at the end of the tunnel where my house is (double door system where if front door is open, inner door is closed and so on.). Please help??
Edit: Another thing I need help with is figuring out how to wire the side wall blocks... 2 pistons on top of each other....if using redstone torches, I am not sure how I can move the 2nd one... Never mind, found the solution..only need 1 torch to control BOTH pistons.
I have the basic wiring down, all 5 sets of 2 pistons work well EXCEPT the bottom set and stair set when opening the door....I would really love someone to help teach me how to set up a timing mechanism to make the stairs move only when stone isn't in the way.
