I'm kinda new to this red stone stuff. I have the 360 version so I know I'm limited to the pc version. I Also study electronic engineering. So I understand the logic gates etc. But My question is is there a way to wire capacitors. A cap is just a simple electronic component that can hold a charge and release it. Let's say I have a push button, And I want it to activate something. I put it in this redstone cap, And it stays active for 10 seconds after the button is depressed, And with different charge amounts so it could stay active longer, shorter etc. Basically right now I just am making a door with a pressure button, I want to step on a pressure plate and the door stays open for a certain time after I have moved off the button. Funny how I could build complex circuits in real life, But Can't do simple things in this game. And I'm trying to learn on this, Any tips are helpful. Because I'm sure once I have a better understanding of this stuff I can make these awesome cpu's and stuff I see.
I'm not active on these forums, so forgive me if I don't respond!

Thanks everyone for the reply's. I'll try all those and see witch one I prefer. I can't wait for the update for the 360 version. I read about the pistons, And how I'll be able to simulate transistors. That being said I won't get much sleep when the update is out. I'm also trying to design a pass code door in my head. I might be able to do it with out the pistons. but I'm going to make it where You of coarse put in the correct pass code to open said door, In a certain time period. But If you get the code wrong 3 times A massive trap door opens and you fall in a lava pit. If no one has done that yet, And I can get it going correctly I might post the schematic somewhere on the redstone forum. Thanks for the tips

well, do you mean a sequence code? or a level AND code?
You can
read eboutlook at it here:http://www.minecraft...#PULSESUSTAINER

PRESENCE FOOTSTEPS - (github)
VOID FOG - (github)
Button -> pulse lengthener[a] -> AND gate -> Door
Plate -> pulse lengthener[b] -> AND gate -> Door
There is a good way. Probably what I would recommend as well
