In the meantime, here is a tutorial and schematic for my 3x3.
Looks like you are off on the width. Should be 7x5x10. Including the blocks repeaters on the bottom layer sit on.
Cnb's 3x3 is pretty similar in size and includes a TFF. I believe his wiring is 8x8 underground and basically minimum space used above ground. Looks like to hide your wiring it may be a block thicker on one side than cnb's.

my bad, I meant the double extender system on the bottom fit into a 6x5 area. Also, I figured that if you're gonna be building this you're gonna have a sizable wall to hide the wiring.
Edit: i just measured CNB's, and his measures at 8x8x11, measured in the way you measured mine.
Oh just double extender then cnb is probably the place to look again.

Double extender meaning the whole bottom system, with the taker piston and the double extension. For the record, the actual double extender this is based on is MCA's 3x3 version.

Spent this evening trying to come up with a smaller version, found one that measures 7x11x4 (including the floor the lowest wires sit on), does it count?

Instead of most compact I went for speed and 1 wide above ground
Tried to sync up open/close with the movement of the last block. The close is 1 game tick off, but the open i got synced at i think 1.2 seconds.

I tried in several directions and sometimes you can remove 1 tick from the longer delay orange lines repeater orange lines, and the 5 tick lime green path down to 4 ticks. Doesn't seem to be linked to any direction - probably just block update order. Only 1/10 second difference, but if you want 1.2 to open i guess it takes some block update order luck.

You can make the height when covered shorter if you use a trapdoor/fence gate instead of a powered rail.

I don't know about smallest bro, but yeah. You could just put pressure plates near the door and have redstone run offs that lead to torches and go around either side. It's a lot more compact.
