Sorry to rain down on your parade, but you aren't the first one. Infact the other one already has an almost done ZBuffer for actual 3D rendering. It also can store up to 640 pixels, and run custom shader code (assembly based)
Some videos (We haven't posted a video in a while, we plan to do one sometime within the next few weeks)
For some weird reason, I post videos like months after I recorded them. Its just a weird habit
Video #1, recorded about 6-7 months ago
Video #2, recorded about 5-6 months ago
Video #3, recorded about 5-6 months ago
Video #4, recorded about 2-3 months ago
Features
~Can run an actual programing language, and not just binaries (has an onboard compiler)
~Real shader code (Vertex shaders and Pixel Shaders)
~Real 3D rendering(I have rendered a 3D cube, but the issue is that I am too lazy to make a view matrix input so the cube just looks like a flat square)
~640bits of VRAM
Please don't assume you are the first without doing any real research
Also, I am going to recreate Tetris soon, so thaat is going to be a lot of fun :biggrin.gif:
on board compiler? how can you exept text?
and how fast is that?
myne is optimised due to minecraft limitations, and "probably" is more compact and faster than yours. also, you dont have a dounload. and you are still working on it, meaning its not finished. myne is, but im making another. and is that screen in the middle of the GPU?and how can one possibly work so long on a GPU? and whats with all the buffers? you cant have a coloured screen in minecraft, so bluuring and shading is pointless.
mine is quick and easy. also, only 4 wires seem to go in the screen.
generaly, i have meany questions. i only watched some of the videoes, skipping parts because we have limited internet, and i didnt see it work.
sure, that is close to the real thing, but its, well, scatterd all over the place.
not to be rude, in fact i whudnt mind helping you build it, but,well...
it seams rather "impossible". not saying you are a troll, but if it did work, i estimate its quite slow.
right now, i have the semi-final design for a computer like GPU witch will render simple 3D shapes using an algorithim I found posted in this tread and 1 point prespective, and so far it looks pretty fast-ish. this is for the project MCX2 in witch a VEEEEERY basic version of a blak-n-white classic 1 block type only smallworlded con only turn your head by 90 degrees no world generated minecraft. when that is done, we will expand.
hope to hear from you soon, and hope you dont take it in a bad way.(this was quite a long post)
that was invented, like 2 seconds ago?(something this epic invented yesterday whud have pages of replyes by now)
and his monitor is definetly not setup for whatever wireing you used.
however, that is a very nice monitor! cant w8 till the save comes out so i can start experementing!

That sounds pretty cool. I would love to talk to you more about this. Add me on Skype louiscastricato
I would love to help implement it
3D GPU version 2 (because design 1 was too slow and didnt work well) is in progress, i am kinda in possesion of one of the very scarce impossible-to-find redstone divider and multiplyer, required for some logic. pretty cool, just want you to know that i did NOT design those 2,im not sure of the fourm name is of the guy that did. lets hope all goes well!
I am not sure if it is the first ever GPU, but I like its design and I think it is a really cool and I think you should continue to work on it to get something really cool. :smile.gif:
Oh, that's you! It looked a bit disorganized and you really should have improved your presentation technique, but that's quite amazing. Where did you learn, may I ask?
can you tell me how to organise it then? im not an organised person...
Well the designs pretty obvious but the save is out for my screen.
Dudearnt: make a straight line drawer! :biggrin.gif:
Also, are these ones that rely on repeated subtraction or do it emulating long division?
what?
it already has a strait line drawer, it is one of the most basic of funtions
and if you mean diagonal/angled lines, that tech will be used to render 3D. although i dont feel like making one for 2D
the rest of that i didnt understand. at all.
ok your GPU isnt Even a GPU. you dont know what a effing 3D Vector is, and u even say you dont need Vectors???
go to ours (ok, lets say weasels) GPU. this one will run pong, tetris and snake when its done, we will add my 8 BIT Cpu with 16 bytes of RAM and 48 Bytes MemStorage. but dude, u were on our server, ur GPU isnt even a GPU, as i mentioned before :tongue.gif:
You're just jealus.
Do you know what programmers do? They find the easiest and most efisient way to solve a problem. Sure, you whhud need to do very complicwted thing-ima-gigs in order to properly render poligons, but i dont need that. Programmers dont add features and write tons more code in order to get a feature they KNOW they wont use, andits minecraft it will run (or a veeeeeery bacic clone called MCX2) it only needs to draw qubes. And sinse i am planning to only turn in 90 degrees turns, i only need to render the front of every qube, another shortcut. I may not know how q real GPU works, but i know how GPUs are operated via code, and i know how to make one that gets the job done.

And of course it can run pong and tetris, i just need to hook up a computer!
in fact, i think it will be able to play them faster then on yours, due to it not having to go trough pointless shaders and whatnot. There are only 2 shades in minecraft! ITS COMPLETLY POINTLESS!
what the...?
my video wasnt approved!
its been pending for a real long time, mabie thay cleared the list because they didnt have a video moderator and the que of videoes became unbearably huge, because i didnt do enything wrong! no swearing, no 3rd party sources, i bought minecraft, 1st video on MCfourms about this, so no topic overload... can someone tell me if there is a possible problem?
im gonna try to re-submit it later.

I posted one video and it took a couple weeks.. keep your panties on.
Dude, i think you missunderstand.THEY DELETED IT. ITS NOT IN THE LIST O PENDING VIDS.(or i forgot to mension that)
:sad.gif: My versions of paint got on, I really enjoyed your video from a technical aspect.
I gotten some advice from other people who have gotten their videos approved and people who gotten "Digital Diamonds" as well, redstone creations should be simple enough so that most minecrafters would be able to understand how it works. Take my paint for example, I believe you saw the 1st video since you commented (Thanks for that), I don't have a full understanding of how a GPU works but I know what it does, my paint is not as advance as yours since its goal was to be user friendly (Which I believe I achieved). I also explained in simple definitions like T-flip flops, which is a common term for people who know a little red stone, that way they have some idea of what is going on.
*People like to see the redstone in the open. most of the video shown have the redstone exposed for people to gawk at.*
Here is my simpe Paint application in Minecraft.
Above is my old 2011 project that I liked, I don't play that much minecraft anymore but I occasionally help out on the Redstone forum. Hope my answers can be of help, let me know if I am unclear, and a +REP would be nice for me.

Thanks, i might make a video on how it works, but i whud like people to ask for perrmision before thay copy the tech
i could hook up a ROM to draw pixels. in fact, weasels was the FIRST one, weasels has 2 Cores (8 when finished) and paint is more than drawing vertical and horizontal lines to a screen dude. tell ur fanboys to stfu for a moment. convince me that ur GPU is better than weasels... :biggrin.gif: i cannot be jealous because i never built one. i know how they work, and i helped out at weasels GPU, but i did not make them myself so how could i be jealous? xDD
i just want to "defend" weasel because his GPU was the first one ever made in minecraft, as far as i know. and u said u dont need vectors to play minecraft....... =D
what would u do if an object gets further and further away? it has to become smaller! vectors control this for example. how would u manage that? ^^
greets
lol trolled post is trolled.
the answer to that: Z1, (1st distance) - X2 and Y2(and Z2, so it knows distance), and added to X1 and Y1, so the object "shrinks" to the centre of itself, giving the illusion, because it is smaller, that it is further away. HA! THE SIMPLEST DISTANCE CALCULATOR!
I think I know what im doing, like i sead, everything is planned and nothing overlooked, have you seen just how simple my GPUs logic is? that is what i mean. and BTW, the 2nd best paint can only draw simple dots. so this is what paint is about, making it simpler to draw stuff.
and im saying you are jelus because you have been working on some big, pointless project and I've just come along with my ingenious designs and made a reasonably fast and powerful one. it is operated almost exactly like a GPU, although it may not work like one.
o, and to convince, mine actually works pretty fast, and you can download it. all functions have a use, it even has a live mode because of the slowness of redstone. you can only do 10 inversions before it already takes a second, so invert and carry wisely.
and another thing, i still dont have proof that it even works, because the counter was broken(apparently) when i logged on, the vids don't show mutch, and no download. I REFUSE to take away my 1st GPU claim until i see that thing work, and finished. the whole thing.
1 more thing, my video shows 2 of them working tgether. divide the size by 2 and you get how small it is(dont look at the pics, thats of an old and bulky version).also, my new one will be 4 times bigger(the screen) in order for 3D to be affective.
And to those that think that mineecraft in minecraft isnt posible, go on the minecraft wiki and search minecraft 4k. "Minecraft, way under 4kb."
Now, subtract:
Textures
smooth camera( will only turn 90degrees in my version)
block types
terrain generator
mouse pathfinder
a lot of render code(due to my method)
colour
Und it will probably be under 1kb, witch means its possible in minecraft!!!
on board compiler? how can you exept text?
