I just made a Pez Dispenser on my SMP server. I knew they were buggy, but the 'smp friendly' cart dispensers all seem to use sticky pistons, and I have yet to find slimes. Everything in it seems to be working great... while I am in the area. As soon as I take a ride, however, there is a good chance that when I come back, another minecart will have been fired from the dispenser. The only explanation I can think of is that somehow the trapdoor is misfiring durring chunk loads.
I am thinking if it is a redstone isue, i may be able to somehow work a 'lock' in the circuit so when the chunks are loading the trapdoor cant misfire. Although if this is a 'Door state' bug effecting the trapdoor itself, I guess I will be outta luck.
Has anyone else come across this behavior? If so, any advise would be appreciated.
While I cant use that example exactly (since the dispenser leads to a staging area) but I know now exactly what I need to do. Basically all I have to do is run another length of track back to the load area of the dispenser, like you did, and use either a switch, or preferably a detector rail, assuming I have the room, to switch the track to make a loop in the dispenser.
