I had a feeling this was going to happen lol. The whole time Notch was talking about pistons I kept thinking: "I bet he is going to accidentally make so you can duplicate blocks with sticky pistons."
How it works:
1. Piston A pushes Sand and sticks to it.
2. Piston B attempts to push Sand while Piston A tries to pull it back.
3. Game divides by 0, and to prevent the universe from imploding, duplicates the Sand.

I hope this stays like this I hate having to tear up my beaches for glass.
Pay the price of your material desires! Gaze upon the consequences to the earth! Or, you know, build a railway in the nether to a far away land where you can pillage the beaches at will. =D
Haha, but really this is quite funny. Yeah, it just might be a bug.
whats that bit with the repeater off to the side? I'm too much of a redstone newb to recognize it and I can't quite make it out from the video
That part is a pulse generator, it was set to 0.1 seconds of redstone pulse, but the circuit needed around 0.15 seconds. So the only way is with the lever like I showed in the video.
You can now make sand generators with sticky pistons. This is likely to be a bug, and may be fixed.
But in the meantime, this is how you make one.
I thought this was some kind of trick, that you were just recycling the sand that fell through the holes by pushing it back up to be recirculated.
But then I saw it wasn't, and I was all like..
They are just part of the redstone circuitry.
I thought I'd add a little color :biggrin.gif:
Thank God, too. I need a way to produce more sandstone without ruining any of my lovely deserts.
What happens if you load that with diamond blocks? I'm guessing it just clogs after one or two?
You should try that!
Sand/gravel works best here because they are affected by gravity so they get out of the way and can be destroyed.
How it works:
1. Piston A pushes Sand and sticks to it.
2. Piston B attempts to push Sand while Piston A tries to pull it back.
3. Game divides by 0, and to prevent the universe from imploding, duplicates the Sand.

I turned one diamond block into thirteen before it clogged.
Yeah... Cause I really want more pointless gravel.
"I know the recipe for this"
5 Seconds later-
"I don't know the recipe for this"

Don't worry about it, you won't need that part.
