I'm making a freight depot and I need a logic gate that will take a single detector rail's signal and direct 4 incoming carts into their bays. I guess it would be a counter that gives a different signal for each count? I could also put a detector rail between each T-Junction if need be.
I tried using a T Flip Flop but that only gives me 2 signals which is great but I need at least 3 (The last bay can have no T junction).
I know that you can use a detector rail to prevent a cart from entering a bay if there is already a cart in there, but I want the carts to be sitting on a powered rail instead of a detector rail.
Any brief description of what I need would be great, I know all about RS-NORs and Edge Triggers etc. but this is beyond my capability at the moment.
From what I understand, you basically want 4 outputs from 1 input. Split it up like a pitch fork?
If you want 4 carts to go to 4 different bays with 1 output, you basically just have to set your rails up, or manually do it. If you could post a picture of what you want, or let me join a server (or join mine) I'd be glad to help in a bit more detail. However, I'm going to bed in about 20min and won't be on till about 7:30 (22 hours from now)
Everything in electronics only works a certain way because you tell it to. a 1 is only a 1, until you tell it to do something. Same for 0 of course.
But the 4 carts will be coming along the same track, then each stopping in their own little bays. I'm fooling around with RS-NOR atm, I can get it so that as a cart enters its bay it stops other carts from coming in but then the next cart that comes activates it again and enters the same bay.
I think I'm closer to a solution though, thanks for the reply man.
