I'm still looking for more feedback on my configurable Redstone Gate mod. All gates and common circuits (such as e.g. clocks, edge detectors, latches and Flip-Flops) in a single block.
If using just 1 pressure plate is ok, then those are definitely not the most compact, but since generally 2 pressure plates are standard, i guess Bansil's is the most compact. ill make a really compact 1 pressure plate one tho. just gotta go to sleep now :\

This is awesome. Now if only I could understand what the hell it all means.
Let's see, yours it 2x4, the one from the video Darq gave us is 4x3.
Technically yours is smaller, but his is smaller length wise, which is important in door making.
@ above, of course only one pressure plate is the most compact. It's literally just a pressure plate in front of a door.
I am the bone of my sword
Steel is my body, and fire is my blood
I have created over a thousand blades
Unknown to death, Nor known to life
Have withstood pain to create many weapons
Yet, those hands will never hold anything
So as I pray, Unlimited Blade Works
Essentially yours is 2x4x3 (WxLxH) vs his 4x3x2 (when wired on one side only). Both are including the floor but excluding the doors. I.e. your solution is higher but smaller.
His main disadvantage is that it requires solid (conducting) blocks next to the doors. Which is not uncommon but a restriction nevertheless. Your disadvantage is that the pressure plates are further away.
An interesting trade-off.

I don't really see a problem with pressure plates being a little far away, however that is my opinion. I'll be working on making even smaller double doors hopefully.
I think all the double door ideas are already done.

I can name one. You had trouble getting through the doors in your video. It took you a few times. A few times too many.

I think the other design was by Hypnox.

4x1x4 one block under the door
It's because I flew up onto them, if I made actual steps up to the pressure plates it would work fine.
