I followed a YT tutorial step by step on how to automate a pumpkin farm. Everything works perfectly. The observers pick up the growth and the pistons break the pumpkin blocks. The hopper minecart pics up the pumpkins no problem. The problem comes when the hopper minecart is supposed to transfer the pumpkins to the hopper attached to my chest: it doesn't transfer the pumpkins. I check if the fault was with either hopper; it's not. I built new hoppers and rails over it, still nothing. When I throw things into the hopper covered with rail, it lics it up and sends it to the collection chest. However, for some reason the hopper minecart doesn't was to dispense into the collection system. Please help. My brain isn't equipped for redstone.
Pics of the hopper mincart unloading setup would be very helpful.
Absent that, linking to (or at least providing the title of) the specific tutorial you are using might suffice.
Speculating:
My first guess would be that the hopper(s) intended to pull from the hopper mincart are locked (powered).
Since these hoppers will pickup when items are thrown on the rails (presumably with the hopper mincart NOT in place), this would appear to be an issue only when the minecart is being unloaded.
[Given the range of minecart unloaders in use, knowing what design you are using and seeing what you actually built becomes necessary. ]
What happens if you manually throw item onto the rails above the pickup hopers with the loaded hopper minecraft in place?
What happens if you install a temporary pickup under part of the rails? (Just place a hopper under a normal rail and make sure none of the blocks around the hopper [all 26 of them] are powered.)
[If things work normally, 1 or 2 items should umload every time the loaded hopper minecart passes over the hopper.]
