In a little contraption of mine I need to send a redstone signal about 5 blocks down. On top I have a signal that has either strength 0 or 1, and I need to activate a RS-flipflop using 2 droppers below. The problem is that I want to do this in a tileable 1-wide build, which rules out anything that uses redstone dust (or at least redstone dust next to each other for anything with signal strength >1). Of course it has to be fast and reliable.
The only way I found is to alternate a piston (pushing an observer down) and a redstone torch line. The attached picture shows the circuits, the top lines coming from the left are one input, the other input comes from the left in the middle, and the output is read at the bottom.
Is there a better way? The pistons are pumping quite a bit and it's noisy as hell.
