Im making hide and seek with Commands myself and im pretty far but I can not figure out how I solve a problem. I teleport a shulker on me to immitate a block but if I jump I would be stuck in the shulker and i would be in the swimming mode. This problem occurs because the tp of shulker is a delayed. My question is now if you can disable the swimming mode and if not how do you minize or remove the delay of the tp? Apologize for my misspellings because im not the best in english.
I can not say that what you ask is possible by commands (I don't know any way; however, this doesn't mean there is no alternative).
Swimming position switching is a default minecraft mechanic, which, I bet, can only be stopped using plugins or other mods.
What is the shulker exactly doing? could you explain a bit more or even send a video?

I have a invisible shulker on a armorstand which follows me constantly.
/execute at "player" run tp @e[name=shulker] ~ ~-1.5 ~ facing ~ ~ ~1
If I jump the player and shulker collide in mid air and the player goes into the swimmingmode and is stuck inside the Shulker. I need to note that I put the player and the shulker in a team and disabled the colisionRule.
I mean, for what you are doing, I think falling blocks are the solution you are searching for : no "phisical" hitbox pushing the player, but the best of all : it can get any texture you want.

Well in fact, do you really need a shulker box?

Discovered this accidently. If you have the blindness effect you can't swim. Hope this helps!
I gotta try that myself.
