For a project i'm working on for a while i want to have a 10 minutes timer (doesn't have to be exact) that can be reset. I've searching for quite a while now and can not find any reliable timers that can be reset.
I'm okay with a daylight sensor, but face the problem, that the timer can be activated at any time, which means you'd never get the full 10 minutes with a daylight sensor.
I tried hopper timers, but they can't be reset.
I've tried the pressure plate timers but they can't be reset (without blowing up my base, flooding it or duping)
I've tried an observer based timer, but was told to remove it because it duplicates items (yes i made a new one, that did this by accident and unthankfully mods didn't let me keep it, even if i build a version that didn't dupe)
Nothing seems to really suit my needs and i would be okay with it, if the reset needed a minute or two to be happening, if anybody has any ideas i'd be very happy about it!
You can use a series of repeaters set on long delay with a button to activate. Not sure how many you’d need, but it’ll automagically reset itself. Kinda fun to watch the signals chase each other through the line.
based on your requirements I developed a modular 10 minute timer for you (see Picture below). You can start the timer with the button on the green block. If you press the button again after the start, the timer will reset back to 10 minutes. The button on the red block turns the timer off immediately.
If you have any questions about this, just let me know.
Im a bit late, but i found another way to solve this. Its a little more crazy redstone, but it sure works, is stable on SMP and is way less complicated.
It works with a simple double item despawn timer. By buttonpush the first dispenser shoots out a potato, when the first potato despawns, the second
dispenser will shoot out a carrot.
After 5 more minutes, the carrot despawns too and triggers a pulse. You can also leave out the monostable circuit (piston and repeater on the right) to have a 5 minute long signal.
If you want to reset the timer at any point you can push the button below, that activates the piston and shoots up a villager. He picks up the potatos (LOL).
Little Flaws:
1. A villager can only pick up 4 stacks of the same item (in total 8 stacks), so after using it ~500 times, you will have to put in a new villager OR have another villager down there, as an infinite villager breeder. (You can then let the baby fall in lava or s.th.)
2. You would have to restock the carrots and potatos after the 9 dispenser slots have been used up (~570 uses), but you can also hook up a storage with alot more..

What a crazy idea, I would never have thought of that! I love it Bananenvorkauer!
