Hey guys. I am trying to make a secret storage area behind a fireplace. I set pistons on either side, and a set of double piston extenders for the back of the chimney. I can get all the pistons to work correctly, except the final extender. Some ways the blocks would only retract one space, other ways I would get one piston going off when it is not supposed to. I have tried various combinations of repeaters, observers, and timings and am truly at a loss how to get this to work as intended. I have uploaded the test world here:
Can anyone take a look at this and see if they can offer any suggestions, fixes, or reworks?
Notes: the red wool blocks are the blocks that need to move. The stone, stone brick, dirt, and wood blocks need to stay. Sandstone blocks can be moved, removed as needed.
Any input would be so greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!
You have to do a first in - last out method. Meaning you cannot retract Pistons that are extended. So you need to power the first piston to push, then you power the second piston. Now it's for the part you're likely getting hung up on.
You must retract the second piston that was extended last, first. After that you can then retract the first piston. You can't push or pull extended Pistons with pistons
Yeah, thanks for the explanation, but I had a bunch of attempts at doing exactly that, and kept running into the same problems. I even tried to adapt other double extender tutorials, but i kept running into the problems mentioned above, where they would get interference from the adjacent pistons. I found a solution for now, instead of using the planned double extender, using a set of pistons that would retract the blocks above and below after the horizontal retraction. The only problem with this, is i now see exposed sticky pistons in the passage, which i would love to not have there.
P.S. - The uploaded test world doesn't reflect all of the versions i tried, as I tore out a lot of what was not working.
