So, i'm making a map with a boss, typical. HOWEVER. I want to detect when the mob dies and activate another set of command blocks where it will cut to a cutscene.
I really have no clue how to actually do it, been searching for months and somehow havent found out. So detailed help would be highly appreciated!
2. summon an armor stand with a tag named "tagHolder"
3. set up a command block chain (one repeating command block and 2 chain ones attached to it)
Paste these into the 3 command blocks in order:
/scoreboard players tag @e[tag=tagHolder] remove hasTag
/execute @e[tag=boss] ~ ~ ~ scoreboard players tag @e[tag=tagHolder] add hasTag
/testfor @e[tag=hasTag]
attach a comparator to the "test for" one and that is your output for activating the other command blocks. (the comparator will give an output as long as the boos is alive, might need to invert the signal)
The way this works is, the tag named "hasTag" is constantly being removed from the armor stand with the "tagHolder" tag, and then it is added to the armor stand again by the "boss" entity. If the boss is defeated, it won't add the tag to the armor stand and therefore the comparator will not give an output.

I wish testfor was still an option for me.. i might be able to spin that testfor through execute. Thanks for all your hard work on the forums megacrafter
