Hi, I'm new to redstone but I know the basics. I was looking at a banking system (a redstone system that allows you to have a specific box to keep your stuff in that is password protected) and wanted to know how to adapted it, if it can be, to make a working reception for a hospital that will assign you an available room. I am making a Hospital mega build and want it to be realistic but vanilla.
Neither the bank nor the vault door actually protect the contents from players willing to mine through walls which will give access to either the goods themselves or the named paper used by the circuitry to verify access.
To prevent this sort of. . . . work-around, one would need something like a landclaim anti-griefing mod (or some similar method of preventing others from breaking blocks in the area).
While chests and shulker boxes have a Lock tag in their block entity data that can be set (using commands) to require possession of an appropriately named key, doors have no equivalent tag.
Assuming none of the above discourages your interest in "mak[ing] a working reception for a hospital that will assign you an available room", it seems like it may be possible [I did only a very quick skim of the roughly one hour of video involved] to use the accounts registration front-end from the bank to assign the passwords to a more "hospitial like" substitute for the password vault door...
(It does appear that a build using this system would require a significant amount of "mechanicals space" to house the needed item pipes and redstone.)

WARNING: I have an extemely "grindy" playstyle; YMMV — if this doesn't seem fun to you, mine what you can from it & bin the rest.
Thank you very much for your reply. No, it doesn't discourage me as the building is intended for fun story use so I don't much care what people do with it. I just wanted a way to make it more interactive. I'm not entirely sure how to hook it up to a door but I do know I don't want to use all that space. Normally people rping tend to follow the rules of the rp so if I just make the basic set up it should be enough. Thank you for your incite.
