So here's the dilemma: I've been creating a MOBA Map and I'm on the hardest part of it.
I'm creating the mobs that would spawn in interval and will fight the other teams. I manage to create the Fighter Creeps or Melee using an invisible Villager riding a Zombie. Damage dealt was due to /effect. I now also manage to kill them when they reach below 10 health.
My "MAIN PROBLEM" now is I can't get to make the Ranged Creeps. I'm using Snowman riding a baby zombie with custom speed and with team so they won't kill each other. Sadly, I can't get the snowball they threw to execute the damaging command. I tried separating it, tried using Tags but it still won't work. Any other way around this that doesn't involve using UUIDs? Currently using 1.12.1 and in Vanilla. A .mcfunction files would also greatly help! Thanks!
I'm not sure if this will work, but have you tried giving the snowman strength and making the particles invisible?
I don't think that would damage someone, specially with range attacks. I believed strength effect is only applicable to melee attacks. It won't give damage to snowball then.
So when a snowball is thrown it acts like an arrow? I'm not sure if you're able to do that, or if you can make the arrow invisible, but maybe that could work?

Are you able to summon a arrow to a snowballs position? Something like
/execute @e [type=snowball] ~~~ summon arrow ~~~ ?
