Brand new here, and very new to Minecraft as well (I know, incredibly late to the party).
I'm looking to light up the sides of a path by stepping on a pressure plate. Ideally I'd love a delay between each light, because that would just look beautiful as you walk in, but I would be happy enough to have them all come on at the same time.
Been playing around for hours now and still can't get anything to work correctly.
If somebody with more than my 30 odd hours of game time could lend some advice, it would be greatly appreciated
OK, so first dig out a bit underneath your pressure plates, for redstone. Place some redstone directly beneath the pressure plates. Wherever your redstone lamps are, face the redstone wire towards them. Then place redstone going directly between your lamps. If you want a delay, put repeaters between your lamps.
Now! Another problem is that they (the redstone lamps) come on nicely, but they've stayed on. Is it possible to have them turn on when first walking across the plates, then turn off if I walk over then again?
I feel like this is Minecraft 101... Only one way to learn I guess!
Well, this is a bit more complicated... you have to wire the pressure plates to something called a T Flip-Flop which makes short signals permanent. Wire your redstone to where the button is in the tutorial and it should work...
