And why isn't that so good? Isn't that one of the core features of the game?
There is a lot of I don't like X so it shouldn't be in Minecraft threads popping up a lot lately. Redstone is a pretty major part of this game and its nice to see some updates to it and what can be made with it.
This update is just about command blocks etc., the next update is about something else
you should be happy they think about every part of the game
Source? Or assumption? You know, the problem with people is that they assume certain features will be in a certain update. Their assumptions are incorrect, and start complaining.
For all we know, 1.9 can be another mapmaking update.
Don't assume, it's the cause of many problems. I hear many people say 1.9 will be all survival. Do they have valid source directly from the developers? No. Then they will be disappointed *yet again* if 1.9 were to be a redstone/mapmaking update. Thus brings the birth of these kind of pointless threads upon us.
So you don't like the new update... just because you're terrible at redstone? That's a horrible excuse, really. If you're bad at redstone, then learn how to use it.
I agree with OP, theres too much redstone stuff. I'm not a freaking electrician.
You don't have to be an electrician to understand redstone, unless you are planning to do computers, CPU's, ALU's, calculators, or other rather large components.
There would be no logic at all if 1.9 is for mapmakers too, because then it would be much more logical if they put those updates in 1.8
I am extremely aware of the content added to the snapshots. Yes, it would certainly be illogical; despite our trail of thought, we shouldn't assume 1.9 to be anything yet.

This post seriously made me facedesk.
This is basically your argument supporting your cause. "I'm not good with ___ so it shouldn't be added for anyone else to enjoy!" I'm sorry to break it to you but you aren't the only person who plays Minecraft, it isn't all about you. I see way too many threads complaining "Mojang didn't add what I wanted or feature __ is useless to ME therefore it's a waste of time and coding!"

I'm sorry are you confusing this one with like, 1.5 or something? Whichever one the redstone update was.
This one just adds a little bit. Mostly this is all command block updates.

Well if you became a redstoner, you wouldn't complain.
I'm very bad at Redstone but then I started to appreciate it and realize that it's a very good thing to learn. Simple stuff like a semi-automatic Wheat, Carrot, Potato farm can make you happy when you first learned Redstone. Right now, I think I have decent knowledge about Redstone. I think this update would be very good especially with the new Villager AI as well which is fun to explore and learn about.
I always try to appreciate all the updates and even if I don't, I won't complain just because I don't like it. Remember, just because you hate this one update, doesn't mean everyone else hates it as well.
If you don't understand redstone, learn or don't use it;
If you don't like the updates, don't update;
If you don't like X, someone likes, that's is a fact of life;
There's not even so much redstone changes lately, most are commands, bugfixes and so on...
For people that hate 1.3+ updates: There's a Version Changer Option in the Launcher.
So you don't like the new update... just because you're terrible at redstone? That's a horrible excuse, really. If you're bad at redstone, then learn how to use it.
That's like saying "So you don't like the Wither… Just because it keeps killing you? Learn to not die from it."
Honestly, I take issue with this update taking this long. I sort of expected the commands that they're adding now to have been fleshed out when they did the so-called server update (when was it, 1.3?).
Better late than never, I suppose. But these features have been needed for a while.

Ah, the infamous "don't like don't read/use/watch/learn" argument.
What do you say to the people who like a lot of things about the update, but not one part in particular? There's a lot of stuff that goes into Minecraft with every version, and I have yet to meet anyone who likes or dislikes all of it.
What do you say to the people whose favorite servers update to something they don't like? Should they stop being where they like because the place does something they don't like? What about their friends on that server?
What do you say to the people who are really good at everything about Minecraft and have well-informed and logical arguments about why something shouldn't exist, do you just blindly ignore them because, since they don't like it, they should just not use it?
Should all of these people not update? If so, good luck with any 1.3+ servers, since I wager at least 80% of the players you would normally get won't ever update again.

Command blocks are indeed a majority in redstone, don't exclude them.
