Did you know that some toasters actually run java?
I did, actually. That's partially why Java was created, actually. The idea was that you could compile and run code on just about anything that can run a Java virtual machine. That way, you could have a "home of the future" type of deal where you could have one remote control that could talk to all of your appliances, all of which ran Java.
I hadn't heard about the daily forecast, though. That's... interesting.
Anyways, who agrees they should have a mod api & optimization update? They know that even with no new content in such an update everyone would still love it.
No, but I wonder if it can run Minecraft any faster.
How bad is your PC?
Of course it's not optimised, it's a snapshot. What did you expect? That Mojang can keep adding things without breaking it every now and then? Snapshots may become a little more stable once the API is fully realised, but don't count on it.
Minecraft is already so poorly optimized without these snapshots. My friend has a decent computer but cannot run it at all. Me on the other hand can run it fine.

FireRockerzStudios: "Ohh, they ADDED WORLD EDIT into MINECRAFT!!! OMG!"
Me: "They added two World Edit related commands, fill and clone."

2 commands =! world edit. People exaggerate too much.
Memory Leaks have been in Minecraft ever since it first became public in 2009. 4-5 years later nothing has changed.
