I've been reading both sides of the argument, & I checked out quite a few maps on AMIDST. I'm siding with both redstonevet and Scum. Although, I do have to admit, redstonevet has been giving some dumber-than-dirt arguments.
Of about the twenty AMIDST maps I've checked out, most of them had the temperature type spawned in as the majority of the world. Yes, there are some worlds with quite a lot of very hot and very cold biomes, but most of them were cold and medium biome types.
However, there were some maps with a lot of diversity in them. They looked fun to explore, and I probably would if I wasn't in a "Survival Island" phase.

Well either the terrain generator is working correctly, or it's not. You can't agree with one person who says it's working and the other who says it isn't at the same time. That's just dumber than dirt.

Then that means it is NOT working correctly because biomes of the same temperature are clumping together and becoming massive. There is no diversity. It's all on my OP.
Which is what I have been saying then entire time, so I fail to understand how correctly identifying a problem is stupid, or "dumber than dirt."

And if it is doing this like you say:

Well, I just dug myself a grave by typing that post.
You did not pay any attention to me saying that some of the worlds, nowhere near all of them, had quite a bit of diversity. you pretty much acted like I didn't type that.
Also, when I said I agree with both of you, I'm saying I can see both of your arguments. Yes, many worlds are dominated by one or two types of biome temperatures, but others are fairly diverse, and have several biomes at hand when spawning.

All that means is that the world generator is inconsistent and still broken in the ways I have said.

Broken? BROKEN?!
It's fairly hard to find a good world, but it is nowhere near broken. Yes, most worlds are the same, but that's what happens when you see most of the biomes.
There is diversity all around, it just takes a bit of looking to find it. Sure, a majority of worlds are more or less "mountain, forest, plains, repeat", but others are truly diverse. Yes, the system is inconsistant with world generation on some worlds, but it's better than having constant mountains & plains everywhere.
The generator is working exactly as intended, the entire point of adding the temperature system was so that like biomes would be next to each other. So all you have done is prove the generator is working 100% as intended while saying the opposite.

The problem with the truth, is that it never lies.
The generator is working exactly as intended, the entire point of adding the temperature system was so that like biomes would be next to each other. So all you have done is prove the generator is working 100% as intended while saying the opposite.
This is the most illogical garbage I have seen yet.
"It's hard to find a good map, but the world generator works fine," is essentially what you're saying.

Thank you for finally saying that, Populi. It's about time someone did.
And how exactly do you know the terrain is not working correctly? It seems to be working fine to be; keeps similar biomes in the same regions of the world instead of a completely random placement.
It's not stupid if it's actually contributing something to the thread. I can't say "What a stupid post" contributes anything either, just baiting a flamewar which causes thread locks.
It's hard to find a good world because of the differing ideas of good. If you like repeating biomes, then it's good. If you like diversity, it's still good even if it take a bit longer by generating random AMIDST seeds.
A "simple" concept that can often only be applied to the person's interests, opinion or experience. It personally doesn't bother me at all. I treat any world the same way regardless of the temperature region I'm in. If I want to find new biomes, I simply hop on a horse.
Well if there are people who hate Minecraft and people who love Minecraft, there can be people who hate repeating biomes and people who love repeating biomes, right?

That is a synonym for "not working correctly."
= not working correctly = broken
You're talking semantics now.
This is the most illogical garbage I have seen yet.
"It's hard to find a good map, but the world generator works fine," is essentially what you're saying.
It's a contradiction.

Because:
^ It's a very simple concept.
You're contradicting yourself.
Who the **** likes repeating biome?!?!

To make the point that I just made.
That despite the wilful ignorance of Minecraft fanboys the world generator does not work correctly.
It inconsistently produces good quality maps and clumps biomes of the same temperature together creating gigantic endless biomes of the same type.
