So I just logged on and noticed we have been updated once again. What do you think of the new update, 1.7.2. Your likes and dislikes? I have not got a chance to play yet, but I'm glad that herobrine is finally gone
Is anyone else having FPS issues? I went from a completely smooth 1.6.4 to an almost unplayable 1.7.2. I even reduced the chunk rendering to the lowest setting and dropped various other settings and it is still significantly jumpy.
I am not sure what is up, but I figured I would mention it in hopes that maybe I am not alone here.

Haven't tested world so far but multiplayer is not working well, most servers stuck in pinging or cant reach at all (all worked in 1.6)

our server host updated this morning, server is down since. He cannot get it working at all.
My wife and I loaded a random world opened lan, picked a direction and away we went, I had nothing but roofed forest, grasslands, birch forest, and countless extreme hills. she had the mesa desert savanna repeat. I had to go over 5k blocks before I finally found a taiga, and there was a glimmer of a jungle. I gave up looking for the mythical ice peaks and any snow biome.
I also had a couple of times where the lag was so bad that the computer froze and I had the hourglass thing going.
I also noticed that swimming underwater gave a glitch with the shoreline, It appears that you can see it normally while underwater just it has a blue hue to it. The blocks do not appear to position correctly.
See this is what happens when they attempt to remove Herobrine again
A few things ruined this update for me.
Ocean changes is the biggest.
Another thing is that various textures are broken, namely doors and beds.
One more thing...
My newest base, a base that I had built largely to get out of a snow biome, is on top of a hill which isn't too tall but apparently tall enough for ice conditions...
Yeah, I'm probably downgrading...
Good to know. I ended up dropping all of the settings way down, it is playable, but I occasionally get some skipping. I am in a plains now where I was in the jungle before when it was not even close to playable.
Hopefully there is a quick fix coming our way.
Outside of the skipping and lag issue, I am enjoying it. I mean, I really did not expect it to be perfect and I cannot say I am let down or anything.

Ironic, considering the fact that the changelog specifically states that it's been improved. Personally though, I'm not experiencing anything worth mentioning. Have you double-checked to see if it's not your computer, rather than the game? E.g. by testing out other games.

There are too many people having this issue, it can't be a coincidence.

I cant go in the nether. Its so slow. The overworld isnt that bad, bu its jumpy
One primary reason that others may be getting lag issues might be because their computers are running off the integrated graphics, while others like me are having no problem because I'm using a graphics card (but its still quite an old one), This might be due to the new graphics settings, I've also noticed (on my laptop) that most computers running on the integrated graphics (with the exception of a few) cannot apply the shaders..
These Lag-spikes others are getting might be the graphics.. if it happens when they're exploring it may be a CPU issue due to the fact that low-grade CPUs cant do as many processes as quickly and struggle to load the world and update chunks..
Dislikes: invisibility potion still bugged with mobs. Smooth camera mode (F8) seems to be gone.
Likes: Everything else.
Amazing update, imo.
Smooth camera has been renamed (look at controls) to something else (can't think of it currently).
I haven't had any FPS issues so far or chunk loading errors but I'm still waiting for MCP to be updated to get some mods up and running that are essential for some people (Optifine).
Also, why can you still fish a "fish"? Now the types of fish I can catch are salmon, clownfish, pufferfish and "FISH". This could've been a dislike, but I don't really care about it as much.

I was on Diablo 3 as soon as I decided to close out Minecraft because I could not play it. Diablo 3 was running exceptionally well.
I am on an integrated video card, so maybe that is it. I just find it strange that I can run Diablo 3 on medium to high settings without much of an issue, but Minecraft is near unplayable without drastically reducing my settings.
Likes; Fishing is excellent, I'm not sure if a fish tank is possible yet, but I like the different types of fish now. Also the new biome has potential.
Dislikes; I built my single player house on the top of an extreme hills mountain, Now it snows at high points so my farms freeze. And like a lot of people I do have trouble with the FPS.
Overall I have mixed emotions of this update. It is pretty too soon to make a for sure statement to if I like the update or not but if Mojang fixes the FPS issues, I'm sure I can adapt to the climate change in my world.
(I feel sorry for my livestock in the cold constantly now...)
It was a joke.

I hope Mojang release a 1.7.3 version soon that fixes it.
LOL

Dislikes: MCP currently not updated.
Everything else seems golden.
