I might have a bug. Well I do but I'm still trying to determine the nature, scope and cause.
So the power went out (Yaye US power grid!) and I was on snapshot 13W41b. When the computers fired back up I realized that the new shap shot would be out. So I went and updated to it.
Fire up my world again and I appear to have tools and weapons with infinite durability!
Everything that was in my tool bar was repaired (or is not showing durability). And so far the items that do not show durability are not breaking
Yes I know I need to report it but I'm trying to figure out what to report.
Anyone else have unbreaking infinite?
Enchanted items don't show the durability bar in the snapshot.
They still break and you can still see their durability with F3+H.
The lack of durability bar on enchanted stuff is the first thing I noticed right off the bat, another is that the "Save and quit" menu button makes no sound.
I really kinda hope the pre release isn't coming soon. This update had the potential for so much more stuff, and with Jeb being back this week (or maybe last week too I'm not sure), I thought we'd surely get more.
It is possible that they will add new saplings in the official release, to make the release also more a suprise and to give it a real finished feel, but we just have to wait...
I feel like that would ruin the point of the pre-releases. Then again, Mojang is pretty good at ruining the point of pre-releases since they release a bugfix version a day or two after the update is officially out.
Call me a pessimist, but now that Mojang has confirmed that there will be a prerelease soon I feel like the new trees won't be getting their own wood types. What a shame, seems like it's very sloppy as-is.

New important features in snapshot: Stained glass is much more transparent and nice, more transparency issues with ice/water are fixed, witches may now rarely spawn anywhere it is dark similar to a normal mob, new custom sounds can be added in resource packs then played using /playsound, and maps have many more new colors! The full bug list that was fixed is available at https://mojang.atlassian.net/secure/ReleaseNote.jspa?projectId=10400&version=13701

They would need stairs which would require a new block for a "secondary stairs". Messy because all the existing Stairs are one block, and then there will be this added one that has the 'new wood' I don't see why new wood would be needed. Every single biome doesn't need it's own special snowflake tree with it's own wood and planks and so forth.
Am I the only one that doesn't really care if Acacia trees don't get their own blocks? It would be really cool if they did, but I don't have a problem if they don't.
But I absolutely hate how low the snow is, and that oceans have all-gravel floors. D:<

Is it just me, or does the draw distance setting not work right in all of these snapshots?
I have to go back to 1.6.4 (which is what I've been doing) if I want the bloody draw distance settings to actually, you know, work. I see it can now be set to 16.... which does literally nothing at all. 12 seems to be the ACTUAL max; not as far as can be seen in 1.6. View is definitely... shortened.
Dont suppose there's some way around this issue? Knowing Mojang, if this is a glitch like I think it is, it's likely to be there for awhile. I like them alot as a developer but they're usually really bad (or just really slow) at bug-squashing.
For now I'll likely just stick with 1.6.4. The lowered view distance just bugs me too much.
Indeed. That, and the server console is still somewhat broken in that all I can see is memory usage, average tick, and whichever players are connected. I was hoping for proper Savannah logs/saplings, it's not a bit deal, I'll just not chop them down...
lol.. 1. that is old. as in a couple of snapshots ago. 2. look at all the files in the server files. there should be a log file. open it. open the txt file. there you go. note. they fixed the stained clay showing up on a map gray.

I could live with the new tree types using one of the 3 existing wood types, but not being able to grow them back is limiting. Acacia trees dropping saplings that turn into oak trees makes absolutely no sense and among all the surrounding acacia trees oak trees look out of place.
Unfortunately because of this I had to make my home base out of oak wood, since there are not enough acacia trees in the nearby area to supply me with enough jungle wood, and even if there was I wouldn't want to live in a savannah that has oak trees instead of acacia trees as far as the eyes can see, so I opted for maintaining the environment and instead grow a bunch of oak trees in a small area near my base.

It has already been reported.
Also GUIs use white text for some reason.

yep that be the case. Well at least they will fix that tomorrow.
I was so excited, thought I had an infinite Diamond pickaxe with Efficiency IV and Unbreaking III

Agreed.

Don't know what mob is dropping it though, because they are going though my grinder.
Those are witch drops. They spawn everywhere now, but they're rare.
Yeah, extra bugs...
The german translation of the "Game menu" appears in OEM character set. MC-35768

Is *this* a new feature?
Or were you, perhaps, in a desert?
