Uuuh... nope its been there for a wile... Amplified terrain is kinda new, but not large biomes.

Large Biomes has been there for a while now, but the AMPLIFIED world type is brand new.

Large biomes was introduced in the 12w19 snapshot aka release 1.3.1.
