Another kid complaining about update... You guys posting "Good ol' days" you can go die in your hole. Your "good ol' days" are . You guys are completely losted on this thread. One disagree doesn't mean Mojang is gonna die in 6 seconds-besides who cares about your opinion? We all like updates. Go everyone saying "good ol' days" sincerely i'm sick of this in YouTube and minecraftforums. You people want to give your opinion we know.. but who really gives a about generation hunger bar etc... I really don't give a so you will just SHUT THE UP!!!!!!!!!
But hopefully a finished version of the Mod API is forthcoming so we can ignore the disjointed way several different influences in mojang have pulled the game in many opposing directions and just let the amazing mod community do their job.
This game has ridden on the backs of the mods community for a while now.
I really, really hate conceded little twerps such as yourself who believes the entire game will be ruined by adding a few things that you dont necessarily like.
Zombie Villagers, you can basically treat them like any other zombie, they have no de-value-ing effect on the game. They can actually be helpful if you have the resources to cure them.
Bats, an atmosphere mob, they are passive, they arent all the common. Again, no de-value factor.
Witches. Ive seen a lot of people hate on them, and I can understand why. They are more of a personal preference. Lots of people like them, and others dont. Those that dont arent in the wrong,t hey just have different tastes and I respect that. What I do not respect are those people saying the entire game is ruined by this one, significantly rare mob.
If you really, truly are unhappy with the direction Minecraft is going, and I dont care whether you like this remark or not because as far as I see from they way you are talking these are your only options. Don't update, or freaking leave. No one will miss you, so dont worry about that. If you dont update you wont get to play SMP, but thats a small price to pay to not see the features you dread to absolutely, right?
QFT. I can't add much more else. It's pretty much a fact the ones complaining about this are a loud minority. Everybody else is too busy enjoying the game! I love the updates and additional features, especially in this latest patch. Found an abandoned witch hut and renovated it into my own home. =)
Is Minecraft dead? That is an interesting inquiry, and after much pondering I have decided upon this conclusion: "Aaaaawww HEEAAAILL NO!"
Minecraft is a game. It is a game about creativity, and at its very core it's about choice. You get to choose how you want to play. If you want to kill monsters, you can go right on ahead. If you'd rather build, sure thing! If you want to mine and explore, plenty room for that. All these updates only add to the experience and give new players new ways to enjoy themselves. If you want to play absolute vanilla without any new features, you can do that. You don't have to use the new features and with a few configurations (no mods required) you can go right on ahead and play the way you want. But the new features give others who want to deviate from the old and do different things the chance to do so.
Minecraft is about pure creative freedom. Think about that. Every update adds something and gives people new ways to play an old game. I'm pretty sure that's supposed to be a good thing.
I have a confession: sometimes I lie awake at night, just staring at the ceiling and trying to ignore the aching void in my heart... because I know I will never be as cool as SethBlue. I joined the Minecraft craze around Beta 1.3, far too late to claim any sort of hipster cred. And it bugs me, it really does. I see those Alpha veterans swaggering around with limited gameplay and lack of anything even remotely resembling RPG elements, and I think: I want to be them. But I can't. I can never go back and try out Minecraft earlier than I did. This is just something I will have to live with. You know what they say: some wounds never really heal.
(Or, with less snark: there is no "line" for Mojang to cross. You may have a personal line, at which point you decide that Minecraft is no longer for you. But it is absurd, I think, for you to assume that you can somehow tell Mojang what does and does not belong in Minecraft. You twice attempt to present yourself as an authority by virtue of the fact that you have been around for a while--possibly longer than anyone else, you say--but I am unconvinced. Unless you have been directly involved in the development of Minecraft (and I don't mean through feedback), you have no real authority to make such statements.)
It's just minecraft gets too complicated. There are too much things that aren't needed.
Minecraft is not complicated UNLESS you mean redstone you have me there. Nothing is ever needed Notch could have just stopped and left it in the earlier stages. The Stuff They add are what will make the game better.

That's three mass invasions within the same bloody month! I mean, seriously! The UDTU is attacking now, Blue has a sleeper attack coming soon, and now an invasion by space pirates? What is this, Russia if every american-made FPS happened at once?! - MagicallyDwarven
Minecraft would die if the community dies. Well look, we got around hmm.......... 25 million registered minecraft players and about 8 million bought minecraft. Well if you play the classic/alpha or beta, you would feel op. Minecraft is on the right track
I need to disagree with your whole post. Have you looked at minecraft.net's stats? 7 000 000 people have bought one game. That is the population of 500 Greenlands! I probably speak for many people, but after seeing all the changes that have happened since indev, I can't emagine liking indev again, there was just so little content at that point compared to this point. If you think it sucks, download MCnostalgia and downgrade to Indev!
And you don't need to be so snarky about it either.
They need to continue updating the game for the loads of people who love new content every once and a while, and new content always brings in new people to play the game. There are programs to downgrade your Minecraft back to a previous version, if someone does not like the current one. Also people make tons and tons of different Mods and Plugins you can try out to enhance your playing experience.
