I recall heard that the the server side will have a way to download texture package to the client of player joining your server. Did that come with this update? If so how do you add it to your sever side install so people will download it to there client?
There are tutorials all over about this, but I'll give you the basics:
1. Upload texture pack to file hosting site. Planet Minecraft is popular.
2. In your server config, set the texturepack line to be the URL of your uploaded pack.
3. ???
4. PROFIT!
Also, note that you cannot just upload it to your server. You must upload it to to a file hosting site. Dropbox doesn't work either. Tried it.

You miss understand, I heard it a feature on servers now. The Admin put up the texture package they want the clients to use when they log in to that server to play and you will get a copy download to your client so you will see what the Admin wants you should see. But you can opt to not download it form the game server and use your own.

Yes. And what am I misunderstanding? Those steps are how you set a server texture pack for your players to use. o_O
"Misunderstand", "is" or "was", "puts", "so that when", "and they will get", "downloaded", "their client", "they will see", "wants them to", and "from".

Yes, yes it did. Also, "hearing" and "a player".
See my above post. Also, it should be "their".
*facepalm*
If you are playing SP, how does it get a texture pack from a MP server?
Logic. Use it. This isn't that hard.
Please not my use of the words "server config". That would seem to imply a server.
It only works when playing online. On a server. -.-

The texture package is hosted from my website which I can get to via URL.
