For amazing islands: "-2670798927750191841" with large biomes
I've found a small jungle/beach island, a medium jungle/beach island, and a large taiga/forest/beach island, all within half a map of the nearest one, so no ridiculously long ocean journeys. If you don't like islands though, you'll hate this seed.
I found one that I like: 3948512817818276114
it has a NPC village very close by and the village has a spider dungeon that is actually poking though the roads in the village
It's not flat, but a generally good starting seed I've found so far... FUBAR
Didn't use large biomes. Forest start, water nearby, across a river is an Extreme Hills biome with a bowl-like structure inhabited by cows and sheep.
So, wood, stone, water, sand, coal, and livestock all immediately available, with the probability of emeralds.
Haven't explored it long enough to find if there's an NPC village or jungles around.

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.

Topographer.
It's quick, but all you get is colored pixels representing blocks. Still, it's good for a quick render.
I just entered 1, 2, 3 etc ... until i saw something i liked on Seed 8
Big desert start near tiaga (for ice). Other biomes close.
