I have 3 pistons hooked up to a NOR switch on my automated farm. All 3 pistons close. However, when I flick the switch, only 2 open. I've replaced the piston a couple of times, and still get the same result. Anyone else seen this? It's driving me nuts as it makes no sense whatsoever.

Battle not with creepers, lest ye become a creeper, and if you gaze into the ravine, the ravine gazes also into you.
Have any pictures of what this looks like? I can tell you.

Ideas I would like to see in vanilla Minecraft: 1) A grinding machine — similar to a furnace, but breaks down items like a leather tunic into pieces of leather. 2) Recycling — the ability to smelt metal tools and pieces of armor back into their respective ingots. 3) A hammer — used to break down cobblestone into gravel, and gravel into sand. 4) A study — a work bench that takes an enchanted item and a plain book to extract enchantments at the cost of experience.
I thought this was going to be on their new delay, but it's not. Anyways, I'm pretty sure nobody can help right now sense there is no pictures of your machine.
After all of the scare that some redstone machines involving pistons would break with this change, I've yet to see a machine reported that no longer works.
Has anybody found something yet?

I've been a Minecraft player since Beta 1.7, still my favorite game!

So, again, all 3 are closed. However, only 2 will open when I take away power. Either the left or the right piston will not open and has to be broken. This is in SMP.
I have no clue, but I do have to wonder why you made the pistons that way, seems to be overcomplicated
My automated farms are tiers of 5x7 cropland with that piston setup on the top tier. If the middle piston isn't there, stuff gets hung up on the middle end blocks. With all three pistons the farm drains properly. This particular farm is five tiers long and worked fine until the update.

Could you post a picture of the other side of the redstone? I can see what it does with the water and such but I can't see the redstone in the back Thanks

Very very weird. I can't seem to reproduce this :/ I made the exact same thing in my single player and this problem don't seem to be there. Have you tried to build this same thing in SP to see if it might be a SMP bug somehow? Like you said, there isn't much to this so I really can't see what is going wrong unless its just a SMP visual glitch or so. Does the water stop completely when its done or does the 1 not close and the water still flow? If all else fails do something simple and more cost happy like so:
The one on the right isn't connected is it? Have you tried it with it properly connected like the one on the left?
Actually the redstone on the far right comes in, and gives power to that piston through the block, continues and then on the left powered the block and gives the piston below and on the right power. It makes perfect sense it just isn't a setup I would of noticed Pretty compact actually :/

Praise be to Spode.
I'm sure it'll be fixed in 1.3
