I assume NEI is a mod like TMI? I've never actaully used TMI, but you know, I've heard good things from people who make adventure maps.
Which I plan on doing.

oh good. I'll probably still seek them out just to see them. xP And hey! If I get some good treasure in the process, I'll be pretty okay with that.
I have to actively make myself not search for specific things because then I forget about everything else for a while. For instance, I went looking for emeralds in my world for 6 hours last night. Averaged one emerald per hour, and I totally forgot to look for diamond. Now I have 170 XP levels and no enchanting table still; I will probably lose most of those levels...

So far I've seen, at most; 4 diamonds (desert), 5 emeralds (desert) bones, gold, iron and rotton flesh.
Like I said, if you hunt them down for the treasure, you are actually gimping yourself (hunting down to see and explore is something different). But if you're looking for a village (like I was) and trip over two pyramids, it's a damn nice bonus
Well, when i first heard of the update with the jungle temple I though that was really cool.
Then I watched a video on the new temple and I was very disappointed.
It looks like it has a bunch of potential, but they really should make it more difficult.
Now that I know what to expect in the temple its just not exciting and also extremely easy to over come.
The temple should be bigger, and there should be spawners to add to it.
Thats just my opinion. Not to excited about this update.

I'm excited for the new update, but yeah, from the videos I've seen, I do hope that they'll make them more difficult with spawners, and more redstone puzzles.
NEI + WorldEdit (SPC) is the heaven to map creators.
Combine that with Large Biomes (no more snow -taiga- and green water -swamp- in your map area) and the adventure mode (which needs tweeking yet), not to mention writable books (rules and stories contained in one single book?) and this makes 1.3 clearly the best update so far for map makers!!
(not to mention tripwire!)

Oh I know! I'm so excited to start making maps in it, and playing other's maps! I think in a year or two Minecraft will just have about everything in the world. ;P
I think temples should have randomly generated underground crypts or something with a special mob and more traps. Kind of like a stronghold but alot smaller. It would be cool to have these features expanded upon.
Temples are cool, but there should ether be less of them or make them abit rarer, or nerf the prizes inside of them. (adventure mode could be differint but for normal play i was neraly able to make a full armor set of diamond after hitting only 4 temples, - Makes dungeons look utterly pointless with thier weak loot.

Dungeons are still incredibly valuable for their spawners.

YAY INSTANT EXPERANCE! I love dungeons, even thought their loot isn't the greatest (Pig Saddles :3). My heart skips like, four or five beats when I see the cobblestone interior.
I have no idea how that is relevant. A snapshot is a beta update. An update is a solid change in a game forced by the authenticators/creators of the game. If there is new generation code with new structures, block id's and even more than that, they will not exist in any maps that are already generated. Therefore cause the majority of servers to restart on fresh maps to obtain all that is new. If they don't, they will lose the majority of their players to servers that have these things available.
Even this is avoidable. The last server I played, had a multiverse plugin. There was 4 different worlds. One you were allowed to build your houses and stuff, one wilderness to farm, one nether to farm and one end to farm. So when a new update was released they were able to reset the 3 farmworlds without touching the world for buildings....
These servers are for flocks of children to come play on. Mass made, easily maintained, and not very Minecraft like. Sure this is a fix to the problem I just described but this type of server that you speak of doesn't even make up 10% of servers in Minecraft. 30 million players, each server holding 20 - 50 people (some times upto 500), most are not going to even have a multiverse. I personally have a multiverse and will be resetting all maps for sure. Also not to mention the new large biomes feature, which I think would be ideal for all servers.

Actually, the majority of servers DO NOT reset when a snapshot is released, because it would be tedious to do so every single week. Most servers only reset when the actual patches come out.
Anywayz, now, I haven't played the newest screenshots
Sorry about this, but I just imagined you playng Minecraft like Final Fantasy VII (3D Characters Sprites in a 2D composition), and it made me laugh!
But, on topic, I have been away from playing minecraft for a few months, and with the latest snapshots I started a few new maps; now I`m enjoying minecraft again. I check minecraft news everyday (more than once).
Well, I like everything they`re doing, even knowing a lot of things needs to be revised. But the line they`re following is right for me.

I have to agree with you! Minecraft's minecart is moving in the right direction. :3
@froelich131
Yay, for large biomes! No more Jungles mixed with deserts.
Unless I get a really lucky seed, chances are that by the time I actually find a temple I really won't need the loot. I'll be looking for them just to get my hands on the circle stone and mossy cobble blocks.
I'd personally like to see more and better loot in all the structures. Right now all I value them for is the blocks they're built from, and the occasional music disc.

I love the look of circle stone, so I'll probably tear the temples apart for the blocks.
I think the loot is good. I mean, you can't ask for too much on something that is just sitting out there. Sure, it may be rare but... Weren't caves once rare in Minecraft?

Again, I do not see how this is relevant because I'm speaking of when 1.3 actually comes out. It'd be extremely stupid if one were to actually run a snapshot server period, let alone restart their map because of a snapshot...LOL. Also, most maps DO NOT reset when patches come out. Only when big updates such as 1.8, 1.3, etc come out.
