Since Jungles will spawn in villages in the next update, will they use jungle wood planks to make their village houses? It would make the most sense if the buildings were made out of jungle wood planks and regular wood. Will they do this idea? (I think every village should spawn withwhatever type of trees are closest to it.
I think he might be talking about this pic...look in the top-left:
I don't think villages are actually going to spawn in jungles...big time elevation changes just tear villages apart. Jeb probably tweaked the village code while he's testing, to make them spawn more frequently and without regard for the terrain.
The vilages in jungles should be... Treehouses! There will me small bridges connecting the various houses togethere like the gravel roads except only made out of wood or logs or something. That would be EPIC! No blacksmiths though, that may cause a HUGE fire.
What do you think? If this is a good idea, up my rep.
EDIT- damn, ninja'd
Villages should be modified to spawn in more diverse terrain. I think the key from a programming aspect would be to have the village generation code start by first choosing a middle point of the lower and higher elevation changes and only abort generation if the two points vary by a large amount. If it passes that check then it builds a foundation layer out of dirt/sand (depending on biome) that smooths the terrain by building up the lower areas and removing the higher elevations. Then it generates the village on this foundation. Perhaps have the village size vary depending on how large the difference in elevation change is at the designated spot. Another idea would be to introduce a terraced village model that uses walls and ladders for large elevation changes, for example on the side of extreme hills biome.
