As if Minecraft isn't easy enough as it is now there is an option for bonus chests at teh begging ? If your that handicapped you might as well play on creative.
*puts cupped hand over mouth and talks to person beside me*
Better not tell OP you can use commands in SSP now . . . *nudge* *nudge*
It's a FRIGGIN OPTION YOU CAN TURN OFF ._.
If it was completely forced to happen then it would be bothersome, although hey, not you have something to properly indicate where you spawned.
The only overpowered thing, or a thing that makes the game too easy in there is when you get MANY stone tools or lots of apples.
Otherwise it can stave off that somewhat awkward time of creating 'fodder' wood tools to get to the stone level.
If you don't like it, don't turn it on. Simple as that. Same for the commands.
Bonus chest was mostly meant for super flat as many requested it for a challenge for survival. Don't make quick accusations, there's a glitch where the bonus snapshot is always there but this is a SNAPSHOT, not everything is confirmed. They might take some things out from the chest or add stuff so be patient.
Well i'm glad they take finite time out of their limited development schedule to add a vast array of diverse ways to make the game idiot proof rather then adding features that actually make gameplay better.
Yeah i didn't know about the commands in SSP.
Maybe they next release they provide an option for it to rain diamonds.
Because stone tools, bread and wood was already so insanely hard to get ? You can easily get full iron armor and tools within the first day as is. This just serves to get rid of the slow and boring start that consists of nothing but punching trees for a while.
Not to mention, it's optional. As in, you don't HAVE to use it.
This, I usually get bored of my Minecraft world because of slow starts, and limited developing time? The new features they've included would of take at MOST 2 hours for coding the testing it. It's not hard to code something like that, they've spent most of their time working on modding API which is going to make Minecraft better.
Maybe they next release they provide an option for it to rain diamonds.
There ya go, now your argument is invalid. If they did ad an option for it to rain diamonds I'd be fine, you know why? I wouldn't use it, because its an option, that's optional. Same goes for here, the option is optional. Don't like it? Don't use it.
Reminds me of when people said iron armor was end game equipment. Minecraft is a casual game, it's not supposed to be a Vechs map. And if you are that handicapped and think that getting a few basic tools and a little food is making the game too easy, maybe you should head over to Sports Authority and pick yourself up a helmet to wear to the grocery store.
I like the chest option too. The first few minutes of the game are all pretty much the same. Punch Tree, Get Wood, Make Crafting Bench, Make tools, get stone, make better tools, dig a hole in the wall, drum your fingers against your desk until the monsters go away, same old, same old.
With this new feature, I can skip right past that boring, monotonous rut and get right to making my awesome death fortress!

Raining diamonds would still be an option. You don't have to use it. "If it doesn't effect you, do not complain about it" Wise words from my 5th grade teacher.
It would be one thing if the chest included enchanted diamond tools and armor plus 99 golden apples. But it does not, it has some of the items that are easy to get and can often be left to rot in a chest forever once you have iron tools.
If you don't like this change, please go play a total conversion mod, which might as well be an entirely different game. Or better yet, play an entirely different game.
It really doesn't effect the difficulty of any game. It doesn't even save all that much time. Besides a challnage where you use just that supplies with no crafting bench and stuff it really makes 0 impact on the game after 5 minutes.
Sure you could point out how easy iron is to find. You could say that coal is everywhere and stuff. Now I guess maybe it's because I only started playing shortly before beds were introduced. But... um... yeah. I haven't quite seen the difficulty change at all. Now maybe it's because I glanced at a few Minecraft Lets Plays before I actually started playing so I had the gist of it.
But the stuff in the chest? Wow. You can get that within 2 minutes easy. Punch out 3 logs. Make a crafting table, 2 sticks, make wood pick. dig down a bit. Collect 3 stone. Toss wood pick away and make a stone pick. Mine 2 more stone and kill a couple of chickens.
You think that's hard? Anyone and I mean *ANYONE* who thinks that this chest somehow alters the difficulty in ANY way is a complete dumbass.
Why? Because it's such a insignificant alteration to the game. It would also mean that you actually find those simple steps I mentioned difficult in anyway.
I love how people keep saying that Minecraft has gotten so much easier. When I haven't seen the difficulty change at all. But then again. Maybe I was never much of a noob at this game? Hell I played without armor up until 1.8 or so.
I'm angry because people might play the game differently then me! RAR!!!!!
Seriously, it's optional, if you don't like it, don't use it... It's for players who want a little help in the beginning be it for in-experiance or over experiance and tired of the grind of the first day.

Minecraft wasn't this easy?
