As the title says in the last few updates at some point seeing other players on the map was removed, I liked that addition why was it removed?

Do you mean seeing their name? Nvm, you mean on the craftable one? xD

Although I dont really care if I can see people or not, I guess it was just too much of an GPS.

You use to be able to see their arrow on the map as well as your own if they were within your own map boundary, now you cannot.

Yes I mean the map that is craftable and centers on where you make it, I was not aware there is another type of map in Minecraft lol...

I can kind of see why they would do this. I mean it would make PVP/griefing servers way too easy, since you could just make a map to find other players in their bases.

I'm pretty sure both parties need to be holding the same map to see eachother on it.

There's an optional setting in Dynmap 0.36+ that hides/reveals players on a server if they're underground. Some people forget to set this to false, or leave it commented out.

When you install dynmap, make sure you have this set to false, or comment it out before saving your config.js

This is separate from the hiddenplayers whitelist, that's a set of permissions that lets certain people hide or vanish from view for admin purposes, or on pvp worlds.
