So ive been playing 1.2 for 3 days now set up a HQ and went out to find me a couple of Ocelots, I found my first Jungle biome and searched through it for a good 2 3 hours grid patterns coverd the place 2 3 times and no Ocelots, so I got fed up went off to find another, sure enough I did and same thing searched for several hours and nothing, I just found my third jungle biome and started to look up tips and tricks but cant find much, Just wondering if anyone else other than me is having this hard of a time?
Yeah, they aren't as common as I thought. I have my compound built on the edge of a jungle, and figured they might just wander over to it. Not only do I have to go in the jungle to find them, I have to stay in the jungle for awhile to find one.

I've been a Minecraft player since Beta 1.7, still my favorite game!

They are pretty rare, but if you see them, they'll usually be in sizeable clowders.
(A clowder is a group of cats.)
Hmmm clowder, did not know such a word existed for cats, you learn new things every day
Still havn't personally seen more than one Ocelot at a time. Always when I don't have any fish
Usually see them around the edge of jungle biomes. Probably because I seldom venture into them as they are a pain to get around in. Which actually serves to make them feel like real jungles ^^
Some maps spawn ocelotes, some do not. It is random

Is anyone saying same-sex couples can't love each other? I love my children. I love my friends, my brother. Heck, I even love my mother-in-law. Should we call these relationships marriage, too?" –Rick Santorum
I guess Ocelots don't spawn on peaceful. I searched in feaceful mode for over 4 hours and never found one...
after changing to easy.. i fount 2 in less than 10 minutes
They usually seem to spawn when you're not expecting them and don't have any fish. I was crafting my fishing pole and a mother and two kittens wandered by. I ended up wandering aimlessly around the jungle for another 20 minutes before I found one I could tame.
This is indeed interesting. Whenever I find a jungle biome they're loaded with Ocelots, so I'm not quite sure why you can't find any OP. I skimmed and saw that a couple people had mentioned outskirts and now that I think of it I would probably agree, they are found mostly on the outskirts and they like to run and hide and they're basically silent so good luck.
I have been trying to find some but the tree's are everywhere and I have climbed up a huge tree to check if any are on the ground but the canopy is to large.Help?
I believe one good trick is to create some small clearings in the jungle. I often see the Ocelots exploring and they seem to enjoy small flat open spaces.
Here is a picture of an Ocelot that got caught running through my base. My base is very open and they run around the rooms All the time.
The Ocelot is by the crates. This little guy got stuck and wouldnt move until I reloaded the game.

That isn't true at all; all jungles in all maps spawn ocelots unless you are playing on a version that has jungles and not ocelots...
I never set out to catch them, I will take lots of fish with me into the jungle just in case I spot one though.

You don't need a spiritual leader to achieve enlightenment.
But if you were just wandering around the jungle you might find one by chance
