The only reason I would ever have considered silktouch awesome would be to collect mob spawners in my world and move them either to create a hyper grinder or for thematic decoration (spooky zombie village not so cool without decent supply of teh zombies). That as I recall was the first thing that got removed from Silktouch. I went from really hoping I got the enchant to sorta dreading getting stuck with it
^this doesn't mean you should abandon all logic and common sense for the purpose of good game-play.
yeah, because obviously you would use a pickaxe to remove your windows, ehhhh.
that would be the logical choice, ehhh.
we don't need to be able to pick up glass its cheap and easy to make, but if you really wanted to you could just remove it without breaking it with your hands... at least thats pretty much what i see happen when people put in a new window.
*cough* the don't *cough* smash it with a pickaxe.
grass block - you could obtain them with a hoe using the left mouse button.
mycellium - shovel - done.
ice block - pickaxe - done
Ice should just evaporate like water in buckets does in the nether. A stack of ice blocks is much easier than filling my inventory with water buckets. Climbing to the top of my construction and placing ice, then breaking it ( assuming there is no light source to melt it ) was so much less a chore and was the only thing I personally wanted silk touch for.
