Guys...we're still in 1.21. 1.21.4 to be exact. As far as I'm aware, nothing on 1.22 has been mentioned anywhere, so I don't know why anyone thinks we're already going into 1.23.
Also, to be fair, we already got an End Update many years ago. But another update would be nice if certain things were added

While we currently don't have a specific date (or even month, for that matter), versions from 1.22 onwards will likely no longer follow the "major update every year" pattern we've been having because of Mojang's announcement that they will focus on smaller and more frequent drops instead.

Idk, I think the 1.XX updates (1.22 being the next one) are still going to be "major" updates, it's just that we'll be getting more 1.XX.Y updates throughout the year. As far as I remember, we've never gotten a 1.XX.4 update before, it's always been .2 or .3 and then cycles into the next big number. I very well could be misremembering things or never payed attention to every update since I started.

Yeah, the 1.XX updates are still going to be major ones, but they are unlikely to follow the annual release schedule we've been having since the focus is now set on smaller drops (1.XX.Y updates).
Also, from looking at minecraft.wiki/w/Java_Edition_version_history/Development_versions, quite a lot of previous updates have reached the 1.XX.4/1.XX.5 stage (including 1.20.5, which added dog armor and variants, and 1.21.2, which officially added bundles), but most of the older ones were bug fixes / technical updates rather than drops that added notable features to the game. It is likely that the 1.XX.Y updates will become even more frequent (perhaps making even a 1.XX.10 update possible) and 1.XX updates less so.

I think it's been less common than ones that did go that high, but there were many that did. Most are older now but a couple of recent ones have as well (I sort of struggle to call 1.16 recent but eh).
1.20(.6), 1.16(.5), 1.8(.9), 1.7(.10), 1.6(.4), 1.4(.7), and 1.2(.5)
That's simply off the top of my head and only going back as far as I started playing; I didn't look up actual version history or anything so that might be missing some (1.11 to 1.15 was sort of a gap for me but I don't think any of those went too high anyway?).

Yeah that all actually sounds likely. I just hope a fair amount of stuff gets added throughout the year, and very little ends up bugged. Doubtful but still hopeful.
And after looking through that link, there's some numbered updates missing? Most recent one is 1.21.3 isn't there. 1.16.1, 1.9.2, 1.8 is missing a lot (.3-.7)... I don't know if all the missing ones were so minor that they're not worth mentioning, but a few of the versions had quite a few updates to them (1.7.10, 1.8.8). The more you know kinda thing for me.

Since we're on the topic, what would we want in an End update? I agree more biomes would be nice, but I also thought the End was supposed to be a little bleak and that was the point. What I would want is more creatures and massive structures like the ancient cities. Some sort of new mechanic/ redstone devices you can only obtain there would be cool (yes, I know we have elytra but I think something for underwater or even under lava would be cool).

After watching Luke TheNotable's 100 days in the end, I'd like some stuff that would make surviving in the end a little more easier. A new wood type (That could match the colors of the End, so purple or yellow, or both), and I'd want the loot found there to make some amount of sense (why can we find Shovels and Beetroot seeds in End Cities, but not use them in the End by default?) and maybe a new ore, or something similar to Ancient Debris. Not better than Netherite, but something of a branch instead of Netherite. Call it Enderite? New Mobs and Structures might be nice as well.

We shouldn't want the End to be easier -it's literally the last dimension and is designed to be the most difficult- but I think it could have more life though, like they could add some more trees and plants and also maybe add the phantoms the the End void.
We have kind of had an end update (albeit lackluster) with 1.9, so I think another end update would be nice, but I would also like to see a fourth dimension that is accessible through rare portals in the end!

The only thing that would make the End "easier" is adding trees that can grow in the End as it is. That gives us access to crafting tables and sticks/planks so we can make chests and shulker boxes, and tools if we really wanted to. I don't know why we'd want to make tools/armor since we can find enchanted versions in the same chests we find Iron, Gold, and Diamonds anyway. I wouldn't want a Stone/Cobblestone variant either, and I wouldn't want End Stone to fill that need. The End is, as you said, supposed to be something of a final area/endgame area. But, it's also the only place that would make some kind of sense to add purple and/or yellow wood since that's the color scheme of the End.

I'd like to think that since they mislabeled the Reinforced Deepslate as "Portal Frame Blocks" (or something very close to that) in the game files when Ancient Cities were released, that that would likely end up being the 4th dimension somehow. Something tells me that internally Mojang is toying around with that idea and at some point, might happen.

I really hope to see somthing like this, imagine a fourth dimension unlockable through the deep dark, maybe to ignite you have to collect 1 item from each dimension then ignite the deep park portal, and then in this dimension is some of the best loot in the game such an enchanted netherite armour.

I don't think they'd go that far with the loot. Would make the Nether pointless for getting ancient debris and netherite scrap/ingots from bastions.
To light it, I could see them making it require you killing a Warden or something. Similar to how you open the portal to the overworld after killing the Ender Dragon.
And I mean, an Ancient City dimension could work given how we already have a few mobs that could spawn there with the Warden and Sniffers. Maybe even Phantoms. It'd be a place for naturally generated Pitcher plants and Torchflowers, and a new wood type or two as well. And to throw people off a bit for contrast, they could bring back the old Alpha grass block textures (Bright, vibrant green) as "Ancient Grass" or something.

Using the ignore feature here is kinda weird.
I don't think so.
Skipping 1.22?

Hmm, we got the Pale Garden 'Drop' as 1.21.4 rather than 1.22, so any idea what 1.22 is going to be?
