I'm dealing with an issue where I updated my Java 1.18 world to 1.19 and no deep dark biome generates. I traveled 1000 blocks in the nether and created a portal to a location with all untouched chunks, searched and searched, then created a copy of the world, went into the same new area 1000 blocks away through the nether, went into spectator mode and I cannot find any deep dark biomes. Ancient cities spawn and there is skulk inside them but no where else in the world. Anyone else having this issue? Major bummer.
Edit: I also created a new Java 1.19 world and it also did not create any deep dark biomes.
To be honest I'm not even sure if the biome exists separately from the cities that make up most of it. I have only seen that in snapshots and not the RCs.

My friend found a seed with a deep dark biome separate from the city it leads into -4651105460712845864
When upgrading a world only the chunks that are newly generated, so that were never generated before in an older version have new world gen with deep dark biomes. So you have to go to a place you never were b4

It does on Bedrock edition. I play both editions. And it is supposed to exist outside of the ancient cities...
Did they remove it from Java?
