Hi, i was just playing minecraft, i had started a new world in 1.14 and a couple days in after completing my house I see 2 pillagers in a water pool; one with a crossbow and one with a banner holding an axe. I'm not sure if it thinks my house is a village but I came closer and they attacked me so i killed them. I saw on the wiki something about a pillager patrol or something and the nearest village is 200 blocks away from spawn. I am not clear of any pillager outpost near to me so i am a bit confused on why the came to my house. Any suggestions on why? Thanks
I haven't really explored extensively so I have no idea if there is a village within 200 blocks of me or not but I'm sceptical of patrols just happening to come across my house on their way to a village. Especially since it happened two nights in a row.
The second time I noticed a Traveling Trader so I'm wondering if the Trader was detecting my bed and grindstone and making my house a village?
I also had that happen to me :D. My brother and I were playing on our server, and we keep on seeing pillagers aiming at us from our houses (we have a mountain-side monastery and a town hall). They keep coming back at least once every two days, but I think it's because my brother has the Bad Omen effect. Don't know for sure, though…
Bad omen isn't supposed to have any effect unless you enter a village before it wears off. (Or you remove it by drinking milk.)
I headr a rumor that having an ominous banner at your base would cause more patrols to find you but there's nothing in the Wiki about that so it's probably just random.

If that is the case I should be getting patrols all the time given that I have 4 banners on display on one wall of my base, the frequency of patrols has not increased over time so I suspect that the banners make no difference (or I have been lucky/unlucky depending on point of view).
Its normal for me lol, Im so annoyed that I even tame and breed wolves and build an iron golem to deal with them, I don't want anyone bothers me from building my house.

Just testing.
I think both the trader and illager patrols spawn either near players or player builds.... we've seen them "visiting" our castle several times now.
