1.14 is an upcoming update for Minecraft planned to be released before the end of this year. This update contains several changes as well as some new additions to the game.

Pandas

Little is known about pandas at this time, but we do know:

• They were described as having "personalities" or traits, some of the traits stated were agressive, lazy, and playful.
• It appears that they will eat bamboo, though it is unknown at this time if they will be tameable.
• They appear to spawn in a new "bamboo forest" biome.

Bamboo

• Bamboo is shown spawning in a "bamboo forest", which appears to be a new biome coming to 1.14.
• It seems bamboo can be fed to pandas, as well as be crafted into new scafolding blocks.

Scafolding Block

• Scafolding blocks will be craftable from bamboo, though an exact recipe is yet to be released.
• It was stated at minecon earth that scafolding can be taken down simply by breaking the bottom block, triggering all the above connected blocks to break as well.

Cats

While "cats" have been available by taming ocelots, they are now being split into their own mob.

• Stray cats will now be found wandering villages.
• It is unknown at this time if ocelots will still be tamable.
• It was stated that Phantoms will be scared of cats.
• Cats were stated to bring "gifts" to their owner. While this "gift" is still a secret at this time, it was stated the gift would be cat related.
• There will now be nine (9) cat skins available, eight (8) have been decided while the last one will be chosen from the community, it was stated that more details will be available on minecraft.net within a few weeks.
